In the fifth chapter of RE4 Remake, you once again have to defend yourself in a building against villagers. From our walkthrough, you will learn how to defend yourself together with Luis, how to permanently barricade the windows, how to stop attacks on the upper floor and how to defeat the enemy with a hammer (Brute).

Reaching Luis' house

In the fifth chapter, you must reach the evacuation point - the northern building in the village, which is reached from the Farm. Once you get close to your destination, the villagers will start attacking. You have to hide in the house and prepare to defend yourself against the villagers.

Defending the ground floor

The battle has 2 facilitators:

1. Luis will help Leon in attacking enemies - he can kill them or distract them;
2. You do not have to worry about Ashley - the girl will hide before the fighting begins.

Act quickly as soon as you regain control of Leon. Pick up the Wooden Planks and barricade the nearest window. This is the only method to permanently keep villagers from passing through a given window.

You can also move the cabinet and block one of the shutters, but this is only a temporary method - the furniture will eventually be destroyed.

Before the first villagers appear, collect loot from the ground floor to have as much ammunition and medicine with you as possible.

If possible, stop villagers passing through broken shutters - firearms can knock them backward and make it difficult for them to get inside.

Prioritize enemies who have got inside the building, as they can damage or grab you.

You must defend until new yellow Wooden Planks (dropped by enemies) appear. Use them to barricade the two remaining shutters on the ground floor and kill the last enemies.

Defending the upper floor

From the short cut-scene you will learn that villagers are trying to get to the upper floor by using ladders. Run there and kill enemies that are already on the upper floor.

The first ladder is by the opposite window.

The second ladder is on the balcony on the right.

Return regularly to both places to drop the ladders after the villagers put them up again.

Defeating the Brute

In the last part of the battle, you will face Brute - an enemy with a bull's head. Try to focus your attacks on him. Use a good firearm (preferably the shotgun) and dodge (Circle/B) to avoid getting hit by the mini-boss's hammer.

You don't have to kill all the enemies in the house. Defeating the Brute will trigger a cut-scene of the heroes' escape. This will end chapter 5.
