This page of our guide to Resident Evil 4 Remake contains solutions to the puzzles found in the Village Chief's Manor in Chapter 2. You'll learn how to open the Combination Lock by selecting three correct images and how to solve the Crystal Marble puzzle next to the Door with Round Slot on the mansion's upper floor.
The Village Chief's Manor location
The Village Chief's Manor is a large building north of the Abandoned Factory you can access starting from Chapter 2 after solving the Hexagonal Emblem puzzle.
At first Leon'll have to use the Manor's back entrance, but you can also unlock the main entrance from the inside.
Puzzle #1 - Combination Lock
There are two mandatory puzzles in the Manor which you must solve to access the room upstairs.
Head to the upper floor and examine the Iluminados 4:3 book. Its contents are a hint to solving the puzzle.
Return to the first floor and find the locked cabinet pictured above - that's where you'll find the Combination Lock.
To solve the puzzle you must select the symbols mentioned in the book. These are:
- left symbol - Crop;
- middle symbol - Pig;
- right symbol - Babe.
Confirm your selection. The cabinet holds a Crystal Marble.
Puzzle #2 - Door with Round Slot

Go upstairs again, but watch out for a new strong monster that will spawn near the stairs.
On the upper floor interact with the Door with Round Slot. Use the just acquired Crystal Marble on it.
You must rotate the marble to make the little balls coincide with the pattern - use the left analog stick as well as the L1/LB and R1/RB buttons.
First, get all the little white balls inside the sphere - we've pictured an example above.
Now start turning the balls sideways to match the pattern - we've pictured the solution to the puzzle as well. You'll unlock a new room where you'll find an Insignia Key - pick it up to complete Chapter 2.
