Reaching the hideout - Claire and Leon | Sewers in Resident Evil 2 Resident Evil 2 Guide and Walkthrough

In Resident Evil 2, the first thing you have to do after you leave the sewers is to find a hideout. There, you will find a black chest and a save point. Also, this location is free from zombies. The hideout also contains a puzzle but you can solve it only after you collect all buttons with heads shaped like chess pieces - more about that in another chapter.
Reaching the hideout (Claire)
Claire's path is easier. Jump down near the broken metal barrier. Keep moving forward through the sewers - you can follow only one path. Also, you won't encounter any enemies.
Reaching the hideout (Leon)
Leon must keep moving forward through the sewers while sticking to the right side. Keep moving until you reach characteristic stairs. Behind them, you will find a bridge, a locked door and a switch (tower chess piece) - don't remove it now, you will do that later. Cross the bridge, go through the narrow passage and then down the stairs.
Locked cabinet
On your way, you will find a small room with a few zombies and a locked cabinet - the password is SZF. Inside, you will find ammo and the third weapon (Lighting Hawk - Leon / MQ 11 - Claire).
