The knife is a very useful weapon to eliminate weaker opponents in the game Resident Evil 2. During fierce battles with monsters, a controlled character may lose this item. On this tutorial page, we inform you in what circumstances you can lose a knife and how easy it is to recover.

The loss of a knife can occur if there is a brawl with a zombie or other monster. Then a simple QTE scene may be engaged, consisting in stabbing the monster with a knife - by default, you have to press the L1/LB button. This action allows you to defend yourself from a bite, but its drawback is that the knife will remain in the body of the opponent.

Fortunately, the solution to the problem described above is very simple. Kill the monster with any other weapon and then approach its corpse. Searching them will allow you to add a knife to your inventory again. Always keep this in mind, as the knife is not only useful for attacking monsters to save ammunition, but it is also used in other places (e.g. to open a box with a lever in the police station).
