In Red Dead Online, you can select different ammunition for your weapons and use new weapons. Unlike the single player version, there's a long way ahead of anyone, who want to unlock all the available gadgets and weapons in the game.
The Gunsmith
Gunsmiths - i.e. weapon dealers - have shops in each of the larger cities. In the gunsmith's shop, you can buy new weapons, ammunition, and accessories. You can also go through the shop and see the goods on display to see what is on sale.
At the Gunsmith's, you can upgrade and modify weapons by increasing their properties, styling them with new materials, engravings, decorations, or simply repair them.
Ammunition
Ammunition for weapons can be bought from gunsmiths, in shops in the city, or ordered from the catalogue. Additionally, if you start a role-playing mission with other players, for example, you can fill up the ammunition before the task starts. Ammunition can be created and found on the deceased enemies and found in different places around the world. Some types of ammunition offer additional properties that give you an edge in combat.
Accessories and technical condition of weapons
The technical condition of the weapon is steadily deteriorating as you use it. Moreover, the external conditions will also influence the gradual deterioration of the parameters. In order to keep your weapons in good condition, you need to clean them regularly with oil that you can buy from a gunsmith, for example. Dirty and rusty weapons will be weaker and their reloading time will be much longer.
With gunsmiths, you can buy equipment upgrades that allow you to carry more ammunition and slow down the wear and tear of weapons.
Handheld Catalogue
After completing the prologue, you will get a handheld catalogue, which will make it extremely easy for you to shop in Red Dead Online. You can use the handheld catalogue by using the item selection wheel. Thanks to the catalogue, you can make purchases on the trail, from anywhere and at any time.
In exchange for a small fee, your purchases will be shipped immediately. Collect them at the post office and add them to your equipment. If you have your camp or belong to a gang, your purchases will be delivered to the box in the camp.
Remember that when browsing the catalogue, your character is vulnerable. So it's a good idea to shop in a secluded place, or in a camp, where you can pick up the purchased items right away.
