The Judgment is very similar to the previous games from the Yakuza series. The city in which it has the game takes place - Kamurocho, is well known to veterans of the series, and has the same layout as before. We play the role of detective Takayuki Yagami and solve subsequent investigations, running around Kamurocho and interacting with other characters. The game is linear and the story told here is presented in a cinematic way - prepare yourself to watch numerous cut-scenes that are interrupted by short gameplay fragments.

You can quickly encounter other enemies during the exploration of the city. The combat system is rather complex, offers a lot of freedom and looks spectacular. You can use all sorts of items, perform a variety of finishers and fight in different places, including shops and restaurants. Your hero gains experience, and you can get additional skills that will help him in battle or solving cases.

In addition to the main plot, the city offers a lot of additional activities. You can complete side cases, make friends with individual residents of the city, participate in mini-games or fight with mini-bosses. Almost every chapter adds new activities. Therefore, it is necessary to take breaks from the serious main plot and, for example, to go in search of a dangerous... thief of women's used lingerie.
