General tips Phantom Doctrine Guide and Walkthrough

Last update: 24 September 2018

In this chapter you can find a few tips for Phantom Doctrine. Read them to understand the game better.

  1. Save a few thousands of dollars - you can use them to quickly move your base when your current one is in danger.
  2. Reveal hostile organization and agents - go back to the evidence board to connect evidence once you collect enough secret documents during the missions - this allows you to reveal enemies.
  3. Have at least one smoke grenade - smoke grenades are very useful during evacuations, especially when you want to play the game stealthy by avoiding enemies. A smoke grenade thrown between you and your enemies protects you from their fire. It also forces your enemy to waste at least one turn to change positions of their units.
  4. Be careful when you are playing on the tactical map - during infiltration mode you can often come across red zones where your agents can be discovered immediately (e.g. by cameras or hostile agents). These areas are invisible when they are outside of your agents' sight, e.g. when they are standing around a corner.
  5. Invest in a forger - you can get money faster and get access to the option that allows you to change your agents' identity.
  6. Observe your enemies - move your cursor on them to see their next move - use this option when you are planning your next actions.
  7. Make use of recon - it expands your available options during missions. Thanks to it you can get access to support and be able to disguise one of your agents. A dressed-up agent starts in a restricted zone and can move around it without any problems (until they come across a hostile agent).
  8. Don't neutralize all guards and civilians - doing that forces the hostile agent (provided that they are on the map) to leave their hideout and search for the guards who didn't respond to their call. While they are on their way, these agents can destroy all secret documents and evidence - avoid these situations (or be faster than your enemy).
  9. Don't take pictures of secret documents and avoid collecting loot when you are near enemies - they can raise alarm instantly. The same goes for civilians.
  10. Think before you decide to assign equipment. Your agents can carry only 2 items in their inventory during a mission. You can think about giving everyone a med kit but remember that giving everyone hand grenades can end badly - this piece of equipment won't be useful when you decide to evacuate due to heavy resistance. Enemies can shoot you from across the entire map - equip your agents with smoke grenades to block their sight.
  11. Speed up the animations. Some animations in the game can be exceptionally long. Open the settings and find the option that allows you to speed up the animations. Activate it to save a lot of time when you are on a tactical map.
  12. You can call a transport from the mission during infiltration. If you keep the entire mission in infiltration mode, you can call the evacuation bus without any penalties or limits.
  13. Stabilize enemy agents. If you manage to silently stun enemy agents, they die after a few rounds - it is best to stabilize them (Stabilize ability), thanks to which they remain unconscious and will not die. If you are in infiltration mode at all times, you can do so at a pre-set evacuation point - stabilize an agent there and let him lie.
  14. Avoid civilians when moving enemy agents, even outside the restricted area. This is usually suspicious and civilians (and enemies outside the restricted area) will raise an alarm (advice does not apply to open combat mode).
  15. Use two of your agents to incapacitate and hide bodies. In infiltration mode this is a great method, especially when you have to literally "take out" the opponent, who in a moment will have some patrolling friends - one agent incapacitates, the other will hide the body. This way you are able to get rid of the uncomfortable guard and hide in one round.
  16. "Actor" skill (disguise cannot be detected) also works on enemy agents. This means more or less that your agent in disguise will not be detected by hostile agents. Enjoy this passive skill! Having two agents dressed up with this perk makes the game a lot easier!
  17. If you have such option, choose the "Survivor " perk for some agents - it increases the maximum amount of health points that is useful when you want to incapacitate an enemy agent - it works only on targets that have less HP than your agent.
  18. The agent with "Survivor " and "Actor " perks is unstoppable in missions that have been previously identified by a reconnaissance. They are undetectable (thanks to the Actor perk) and are able to knock down most of the enemy agents (Survivor).
  19. Candidates for agents will move to the enemy side after a while. After some successful actions (tactical, investigative, etc.) you will be given the opportunity to hire new agents to your organization, but remember that their candidacy will not be eternal - after some time they will move on to the enemy side!
  20. If you want to fire the agent, you should be aware that he or she is a potential danger. You have to do him/her a brainwashing before you let him/her go, otherwise he/she will sell all the information to the hostile organization.
  21. Once the hideout has been abandoned it cannot be used again. That's why you have to play your missions carefully, without risk. Keep the risk level as low as possible (unless there is suspicious activity in the place where you used to have a hiding place, then you can discover the hiding place).
  22. Use silencers. Installing a silencer even on a basic gun will make it easier for you to deal with your opponents quietly. You will be able to surprise enemy agents with a breach mechanism (of course, if you don't plan to kidnap them).
  23. Try not to kill civilians. They increase the risk of detecting your base (every civilian killed by 30). It does not concern the incapacitation of civilians.
  24. Try to carry out the missions quietly. This way, none of your agents will be "burned" and you will not have to spend money on changing their identity.
  25. Use the Laboratory. The Laboratory is a place where you can additionally upgrade your agents - it's useful, especially as they increase the number of their health points - with such improvements you won't need a "Survivor" perk.
