Game Modes

Currently, Paladins: Champions of the Realm offers two basic game modes: Siege and Payload - Game Modes and Maps - Basics - Paladins: Champions of the Realm Game Guide

Currently, Paladins: Champions of the Realm offers two basic game modes: Siege and Payload. At first, both modes may seem to be similar, but after a closer look, we can discern a number of differences.

Siege

In Siege, each team has to acquire 4 points to win the match. Points are rewarded for following achievements:

  • Taking over an objective point
  • Delivering a cargo to enemy base
  • Stopping the enemy cargo and holding out to the end of the round

Each round begins in the base. During a match, we receive access to items hop. Aside from standard scoring through eliminating enemies, escorting the cargo etc., each completed round yields a 300 credit reward for each player. During a round, remember that during a point takeover, at least one team member has to stay in the circle. The same applies to the cargo - at least one player has to stand by the wagon to keep it mobile. When the opposing team enters the contested area, or approaches the moving wagon, the operation is interrupted. To proceed further, one of the teams has to eliminate the other one completely - only then the action is resumed.

Payload

In Payload, the teams are divided into two camps: attackers and defenders. The attackers have to transport a cargo from the control point located by the defenders' base, while the defenders have to stop them. The round ends when attackers deliver the cargo to the chosen location, or when the defenders have managed to stop the wagon and hold out until the time elapses. The teams switch after each round, while attackers begin from the point to which the previous team had managed to bring the cargo. The game ends when one of the teams wins two rounds. Additional rules:

  • The defenders have around 50 seconds to prepare a defense before the attack commences
  • The attackers can leave the base after 50 seconds, and begin their struggle right ahead
  • The shop is available at all Times, but the items are reset after each round

Keep in mind that the maps have been placed in individual categories - the list can be found below.

Siege

Siege maps have a strategic point at their center which is contested by both teams. There are two identical roads spanning from the point which are used to transport the wagon. Currently, there are 7 Siege maps:

  • Frog Isle
  • Jaguar Falls
  • Serpent Beach
  • Fish Market
  • Timber Mill

Payload

Payload maps do not contain a strategy point to take over. The wagon appears in defenders' base, who have to defend against attackers. After a side switch, each group has to travel the same distance to deliver the cargo. Currently there are only three Payload maps:
