Food and drinks in Outward Outward Guide and Walkthrough

In Outward you have to take care of your character's hydration and food. If your hero is hungry or thirsty he gets negative statistics.
Remember that in the game you can get ill from eating a poisoned food. So you have to harvest food carefully and take care of its quality.
How does food and water affect my character?
If you don't drink and eat, your character will get ill. This will also affect your stats. Your character will get weaker and slower, making any fights harder to win.
Be sure to satisfy your character's needs. This can save your skin multiple times in fights.
Where can I find food?
Edible items are everywhere. Gaberries are growing on various shrubs, also found in towns. Collect them to make jam.
Animals are a better source of food. This type of food will satisfy your hunger faster. You get it by killing wild animals.
Fishing is much safer. Thanks to this method, you will get plenty of food without risking your life.
Where can I find clean water?
There are many places in Outward where you can get clean water. You can get it in a cave or in a town.
A water filtering device can be found in the first town, the one near the beach. Go there to drink water and get Waterskins which will help you during the exploration.
