The mission with Moldfang can be found in The Stronghold. The area to track the beast in is next to the flag used for travelling between locations.

Keep moving at all times.

The Moldfang is very similar to the Alpha Perforo, as well as the Oreyard Queen. It has pretty much the same attacks. Even melee attacks are area-based. Keep moving at all times and try to take out the monster's backup first - Alpha Perforo and the flying creatures will be the biggest issue. Just like with the Oreyard Queen, here you can also shoot in the head and chest. If you get rid of the beast's absorption skill, it will try to charge at you - use the rocks for cover.
