On this page of the Oddworld Soulstorm guide, you will find descriptions of Badges from Level 13 - Escape. These are different challenges for finding secrets, rescuing escaped mudocons, using candy and opening lockers, among others. Our guide will help you earn all the platinum badges in Mission 13.
Additional notes: if we do not pass the requirements of the challenge a 100%, then we can still receive a badge of a lower rank, for example, a gold or a silver one. The game allows you to repeat the completed stages in order to obtain the missed badges.
Platinum badge requirements: Find 3 Secret Areas.
Badge description: One of the challenges associated with secrets/collectibles. The game always informs us about finding a secret area. We have included them in the walkthrough of Level 13 - they are marked in green.
Platinum badge requirements: Search 48 lockers.
Description of the badge: during the course of this mission, we can find many lockers and deal with opening them before the start of battles on subsequent floors or after their completion. Unfortunately, some lockers are locked and may require an appropriate key. As a result, it may turn out that we will only compete for the challenge while repeating the level, having already collected more keys.
Platinum badge requirements: Save 350 Mudokons.
Description of the badge: as many as 414 Mudokons appear in the described stage - 400 of them will run in the background, and 14 Mudokons can be personally found and recruited. The requirement for this challenge means that we can win the platinum challenge if fewer than 64 Mudokons die in all encounters.
Rescuing escaped mudocons is the main theme of this stage. Abe must guarantee their safe escape on as many as nine different floors - this means dealing with slugs or avoiding traps. We have included all levels of the Holding Pens section in our description of mission 13.
Note - If too many Mudokons die in a given battle, restart the checkpoint and try again. Fortunately, you will be able to save before each of the three fights.
Platinum badge requirements: 170 Moolah (the in-game currency) spent.
Badge description: getting this Badge should not be too difficult. On most floors you will find at least 1 vending machine selling ready-made gadgets or crafting components. We can constantly make purchases and use gadgets obtained through crafting. We must, of course, look into all passing containers and cabinets in order to collect at least 170 Moolah throughout the mission.
If we didn't win the challenge after reaching the nearby train, then we can go back to the lower floors and make further purchases.
Platinum badge requirements: Find 3 Royal Jelly secrets.
Badge description: One of the challenges associated with secrets/collectibles. Royal Jelly is a levitating object that you can collect to lengthen Abe's health bar. We have included them in the walkthrough of Level 13 - they are marked in green.
Platinum badge requirements: 8 slugs were hit with Bouncy Candy.
Description of the badge: the premise of this challenge is to use Bouncy Candy, which can be used to attack slugs and whose unique feature is bouncing off the surface.
It is worth remembering this Badge from the very beginning of the mission. Let's look for vending machines that allow you to buy the ingredients needed to make Bouncy candy, and then use them in future clashes. If possible, try not to miss when using Bouncy candy, because otherwise we can easily waste these gadgets and the ingredients that we used to make them. It is easier to aim at "ordinary" slugs. Flying opponents can more effectively avoid thrown in their direction candy. A Slig hit by Bouncy candy is knocked out, so theoretically we should attack 8 different enemies, although we can also knock out the same enemy again after he regains consciousness.
