Keys - what are they used for?
In Oddworld Soulstorm we can find 9 keys and they are all in fixed locations, which are listed below.
Keys are used to open padlocked lockers, as shown in the picture. Each padlock requires a specific key and if we do not have it, it will remain locked. Not having the right keys can make it difficult for us to complete challenges /earn badges from the Keymaster group.
The current keys are displayed in the inventory, i.e. in a gadget menu window. We'll find them in the Tools and Keys section.
We can retrieve missing keys using the option of repeating particular stages. We don't have to restart the entire game.
Once acquired, the key comes in handy throughout the whole game. "Matching" padlocks are spread across the game world.
Key 1 - Copper Square Key - Stage 2
You'll find the key while playing the 2. mission: The Ruins.
While completing the stage, Abe must go through a mine and gain access to stun mines for the first time. We use a mine on the first encountered Slig, as shown in the picture. After the Slig is knocked out, we search its body to get the key.
Key 2 - Copper Round Key - Stage 5
You'l find the key in the 5. mission: Sorrow Valley.
One of the initial objectives of this stage is to cross the valley for the first time. You have to protect Abe with the use of a possessed flying Slig. In addition to getting rid of other Sligs, we need to use its weapon to destroy the barricades marked in the picture.
At the end of the ride, we take Abe to the entrance to the secret location. Deal with the Sligs in this location. One of them will drop a key.
Key 3 - Copper Triangle Key - Stage 6
You'll find the key while playing the 6. mission: Phat Station.
In the initial part of the stage, Abe must avoid snipers by hiding in steam zones. After avoiding the snipers, we will enter the first building and reach the Tank Row 1 area. Once we start exploring it, we will come across a sleeping Slig, as shown in the picture. All you have to do is sneak up on him and search him.
Key 4 - Silver Square Key - Stage 7
You'll find the key while playing the 7. mission: Hijack.
Getting the key will be possible just after defeating the boss, Slig Mama, the great mech occupying one of the wagons. Examine the body of a Slig located behind the machine wreck - we marked it in the picture.
Key 5 - Silver Round Key - Stage 9
You'll find the key while playing the 9. mission: Slig Barracks.
While completing this stage, Abe must get through the Furnace area and unlock access to Fizzy Pow gadgets for the first time. The hero must immediately use the first Fizzy Pow to destroy a part of the ground.
After using the first Fizzy Pow, we need to go to the right and eliminate a single Slig occupying the top shelf - we showed it in the picture. We stun him any way we can and search him.
Attention - make sure not to climb into the hole to the left of the Slig. This will force us to repeat the climb and the sequence of avoiding enemies along the way.
Key 6 - Silver Triangle Key - Stage 11
You'll find the key while playing the 11. mission: The Mines.
On the way to Level 3 in the further part of the mission, Abe will visit Power Station 2A - the entrance to it is shown in the attached image.
We will begin our exploration of Power Station 2A on the lower level. There are two sleeping Sligs. The one on the right has a key, as shown in the picture. Since he's being observed by a scanner, it's best to stun both Sligs so you don't get caught trying to pickpocket.
Key 7 - Gold Square Key - Stage 13
You'll find the key while playing the 13. mission: Escape.
We need to reach the Holding Pen 2 level, where you'll engage in the last of the nine battles of this stage. After reaching this level, we will meet 3 Sligs, which we can neutralize in any way (also relying on possession). The elite Slig with a minigun has the key, as shown in the picture. He's standing above the lever.
Key 8 - Gold Round Key - Stage 14
You'll find the key while playing the 14. mission: Feeco Depot.
You can obtain the key at the beginning of the stage while getting through WorkZone 1. Abe must use Bouncy Candy to stun a Slg located in a security booth shown in the picture and gain access to the rest of the area.
We don't go any further. Go to the roof of the guard house, pull the lever, and jump inside. Seach the stunned Slig to find the key.
Key 9 - Gold Triangle Key - Stage 16
You'll find the key while playing the 16. mission: Brewery.
You can get the key on your way to the last gate while getting through Bitter Tear X-Traktor. We need to reach the location shown in the picture, where 6 Mudokons can be rescued (including 3 tortured ones).
After Mudokons are freed, a Slig with a minigun will appear. Stun him and search his body.
