Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list Oddworld Soulstorm guide, walkthrough

Last update: 08 April 2021

On this page you will find the Oddworld Soulstorm trophy guide. We've listed all the trophies and achievements. We describe the requirements of each trophy and the easiest ways to earn them. We also answer whether it's difficult to get the platinum trophy in Oddworld Soulstorm.

The trophy guide is in progress. It will be updated in the near future with detailed descriptions of achievements.

Important information

  1. You can earn 33 trophies Oddworld Soulstorm - 1 platinum trophy, 5 gold trophies, 9 silver trophies and 18 bronze trophies.
  2. The PS4 and PS5 versions of Oddworld Soulstorm have separate trophy sets. This means that by having both versions of the game (bought separately) we can theoretically compete for 2 platinum trophies. The trophy list and requirements are the same for both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions.
  3. Earning the platinum trophy in Oddworld Soulstorm is a challenging feat. The gold achievements Too Pure for This World and Hardest Mudokon in the West are the most difficult to get. They require you to beat the game without killing more than 100 Sligs and without dying a single time. The second requirement is especially problematic, because the levels in the game are very long and overflowing with challenging traps that can kill Abe.
  4. It's best to beat the game several times, each time focusing on a different goal. During your first playthrough you should focus on gaining positive Quarma, saving as many Mudokons as possible and earning badges. In the next playthroughs, you can focus on negative Quarma, unlocking the bad ending and on the previously described trophies, which concern a no-kill playthrough and Abe's deaths (it's best to cover all that in separate playthroughs).
  5. Several trophies center around collecting badges, which are challenges in the game. These include activites such as exploring maps in detail, collecting hidden items or disposing of Sligs using certain methods. We have described all the badges in our walkthrough and you don't have to get them all in one try.
  6. Oddworld Soulstorm allows you to change the difficulty level, and if you want unlocking platinum to be less challenging, then you can set a low difficulty level. The game also has the option to replay individual levels from the main menu.

The Chosen One

Trophy type: platinum

Achievement description: Got every other trophy.

Comment: The platinum trophy can only be earned on the PS4 or PS5 versions. It is not available in the PC version.

Whose Side Are You On?

Trophy type: bronze

Achievement description: Failed to liberate the Mudokons.

Comment: this achievement concerns unlocking the bad ending of the game. It is, unfortunately, very problematic, because you have to kill 1000 Mudokons in total. You have time to kill 1000 Mudokons until and including mission 15 - The Yards. Here are some additional tips on how to get this trophy:

  1. It's best to focus on this achievement during a separate playthrough. Rescuing the Mudokons is linked to, i.e. various badges (challenges) which are worth unlocking when you play the game for the first time.
  2. The game counts only those Mudokons that you found or are actively protecting. In case of the working or hiding Mudokons, you must first join them, and kill them only afterwards.
  3. Mudokons are most easily killed by Sligs - it's enough if they enter their field of view. Another easy way is to make Mudokons die in various traps - they can be set on fire or crushed by working machines.
  4. Several hundred Mudokons can die in missions 8 (Reunion at the Old Trellis) and 13 (Escape). In these missions, don't help the Mudokons that run away in the background, but rather let them the Sligs kill them.

If you have completed all the steps correctly, the game will play the bad ending after you finish mission 15 (The Yards). Simultaneously, the access to mission 16 and 17 will be blocked.

Captured The Train

Trophy type: silver - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

Trophy type: silver

Achievement description: Captured a train and escaped from Trellis.

Comment: This trophy is earned at a certain stage of the game's main storyline. We're guaranteed to get it. You must complete Mission 8 - Reunion at the Old Trellis.

Escaped The Mines

Trophy type: silver - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

Trophy type: silver

Achievement description: Escaped the Necrum Mines with the Flagon's Eye.

Comment: This trophy is earned at a certain stage of the game's main storyline. We're guaranteed to get it. You need to complete Mission 13 - Escape.

As It Was Foretold

Trophy type: gold - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

Trophy type: gold

Achievement description: Liberated the Mudokons.

Comment: this trophy concerns unlocking the good ending of the game. It is easier to unlock than the bad ending.

You need to make sure that in missions 1-15, fewer than 1000 Mudokons are killed in total. In addition, you have to complete 12 out of the 15 stages with a positive Quarma, i.e. saving at least 80% of Mudokons in a given stage (you have "freedom" in choosing which stages you want to end with a negative karma).

You must protect the Mudokons during their escape and escort any allies you find to the Bird Portals. You have to be the most careful in mission 8 (Reunion at the Old Trellis) and mission 13 (Escape). Several hundred Mudokons appear in both these missions. You need to effectively protect the allies escaping in the background, so that the Sligs don't kill too many of them. If you have completed all the steps correctly, then once you finish mission 15, two additional missions will become available - Brewery and Eye of the Storm. The good ending will play after you finish the last 17th mission.

Important note - if you've completed more than 3 levels with a negative Quarma, you don't have to start the campaign again. The levels where we didn't get positive Quarma can be repeated and we can try again to save at least 80% of Mudokons.

High Stakes

Trophy type: silver - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

Trophy type: silver

Achievement description: Complete The Sanctum without dying.

Comment: The Sanctum is the name of level 12, where we traverse the catacombs. The most important things to remember while playing this level are:

  1. Avoid pressure plates - They are cleverly hidden in a variety of places and activating them leads to Abe's immediate death.
  2. Don't let the Sleech monsters get close to Abe - Use a flashlight or (even better) flares to defend yourself against them.
  3. Avoid falling from great heights - Always check what's below you.
The level provides even more challenges further on - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

The level provides even more challenges further on:

  1. We must perform the Leap of Faith flawlessly by pressing the jump button a second time at the bottom of the jump. We can easily make a mistake and die.
  2. Watch out for the unique spike traps - They appear while completing trials and during the escape from the catacombs.
  3. Watch out for rolling boulders - Abe must escape from the boulder twice to avoid being crushed and burned.

This trophy is easier to earn when replaying the level. If Abe dies, we can choose to restart the level from the pause menu (the whole level, not just the last checkpoint!).

Teach A Mud To Fish

Trophy type: bronze - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

Trophy type: bronze

Achievement description: Craft your first recipe.

Comment: We are guaranteed to earn this trophy, because level 4 - The Funicular requires us to craft an antidote. We can also earn this achievement even before we create the antidote, for example, by crafting the first stun mine.

A Brewtiful Relationship

Trophy type: bronze - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

Trophy type: bronze

Achievement description: Crafted at least one of every item in the game.

Comment: We can't get this achievement before we reach level 11 - The Mines. In the final part of this level, Abe can craft the last gadget, which is the flamethrower. This trophy will be unlocked if we have crafted every other item at least once during the previous levels. We have listed them on the Gadget list page in our guide.

Brewtal

Trophy type: bronze - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

Trophy type: bronze

Achievement description: Kill a Slig after coating it in Brew.

Comment: We have numerous opportunities to earn this trophy during the game. The first chance we get is during level 2 - The Ruins. In the location marked on the picture, there's oily ground and a fireplace, and a Slig is patrolling the area.

Select a Brew Bottle from your inventory and throw it into the fire when the Slig is passing by next to it - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

Select a Brew Bottle from your inventory and throw it into the fire when the Slig is passing by next to it. The enemy should be automatically set on fire and the achievement will be unlocked.

The Light, It Burns!

Trophy type: bronze - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

Trophy type: bronze

Achievement description: Scared off at least 500 Sleeches.

Comment: We get the chance to earn this trophy during level 12 - The Sanctum. This will be our first encounter with Sleeches - little creatures with red eyes that hide in the dark and wait for their chance to attack Abe.

We can use flashlights or flares to drive away Sleeches. Keep in mind that the monsters we chase away will return to their original location after a short while. We can take advantage of this and deliberately remain in the same location. This way, we are guaranteed to meet the achievement objective before the end of the level.

Scavenger

Trophy type: bronze - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

Trophy type: bronze

Achievement description: Looted 250 lootables.

Comment: This is one of the easiest achievements and we can get it in the early levels of the game. Investigate every interactive container you come across. They contain loot.

Abe The Healer

Trophy type: bronze - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

Trophy type: bronze

Achievement description: Discover, craft and use the antidote on 15 different sick Mudokons.

What A Slog

Trophy type: bronze - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

Trophy type: bronze

Achievement description: Out run a Slog for at least 15 seconds.

Comment: Slogs are dog-like monsters. We can attempt to earn this achievement in several different locations. The mine from level 5 - Sorrow Valley works well for this purpose. While exploring the mine, we will encounter sleeping Slogs.

In this mine, we can initiate our escape and block the passage behind us to trap the Slogs - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

In this mine, we can initiate our escape and block the passage behind us to trap the Slogs. From this point on, all you have to do is stand near the gate for the chase to still be considered active. After a while, we should get the achievement.

Alternatively, we can also look for areas consisting of a long path to run on and upper platforms that will allow us to safely turn in the opposite direction.

Sekto Spring's Favourite Recycler

Trophy type: bronze - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

Trophy type: bronze

Achievement description: Recycle 100 bottles.

Comment: This trophy requires you to find Empty Bottles and hand them over to Recycling Stations. Both of these features appear starting from level 6 - Phat Station. Thoroughly search each area to find as many bottles as possible.

Trigger Finger

Trophy type: bronze - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

Trophy type: bronze

Achievement description: Kill 100 Sligs while possessed.

Comment: Abe can possess Sligs in locations without Chant Suppressors. This becomes an option starting from level 2 - The Ruins.

Once we possess a Slig, we can make them commit suicide or use their weapons to attack other nearby Sligs. Repeat these steps until we get the trophy.

Ch'i Master

Trophy type: bronze - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

Trophy type: bronze

Achievement description: Possessed at least one of every type of Slig in the game.

Comment: the power of possession is available from the very beginning of the campaign. As a reminder, after Chanting, you can direct the Chi Orb at the enemy you want to possess. 3 restrictions apply here:

  1. You cannot use possession in locations with Chant Suppressors. Look for opportunities to possess Sligs in other places.
  2. Opponents wearing headgear cannot be possessed, but they don't count towards this achievement anyway.
  3. The Slog monsters (dogs) cannot be possessed, but they also don't count towards this achievement.

Look for opportunities to possess each encountered enemy, because the game counts all enemies with different weapons separately. This applies primarily to flying Sligs - they can use up to five types of firearms.

Possessing a sniper Slig is the most troublesome - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

Possessing a sniper Slig is the most troublesome. In almost all fights, snipers are far in the background and Abe can't get them. Mission 5 - Sorrow Valley - is the exception, and more specifically it's the mission objective shown in the picture, which concerns getting rid of the snipers. You need to figure out how to fly a possessed Slig without using him to attack the snipers at the same time. You will unlock a path for Abe, who must personally use possession on one of the snipers. Only then can you get rid of the other enemies in any way you want to.

Now You're Thinking With Bird Portals

Trophy type: bronze - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

Trophy type: bronze

Achievement description: Rescue 100 Mudokons through bird portals.

Comment: During the game, Abe will encounter other Mudokons and command them to follow him. In order to save the Mudokons, we always need to find a bird portal in the area and chant to activate it. Repeat these steps until we save a total of 100 Mudokons.

IT'S A KNOCKOUT!

Trophy type: bronze - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

Trophy type: bronze

Achievement description: Knock out 100 Sligs via depossession.

Comment: Abe can possess Sligs in locations without Chant Suppressors. This becomes an option starting from level 2 - The Ruins.

Instead of killing a possessed Slig, we can simply stun them with a single press of the L2 button (on PS4 and PS5). Repeat these steps until we get the trophy.

Big Spender

Trophy type: bronze - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

Trophy type: bronze

Achievement description: Cashed in 500 Moolah at Moolah Gates.

Comment: Moolah Gates can be found starting from level 6 - Phat Station. Each of these necessitate spending a certain amount of cash (Moolah) to unlock them. This trophy should be earned during the course of a normal playthrough of the game. In this case, it was unlocked at one of the gates in mission 14 - Feeco Depot.

If we don't have the funds to unlock the Moolah Gate, make sure to take a look around for loot containers and recycling stations to recycle any empty bottles we may be carrying.

Heartless

Trophy type: bronze - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

Trophy type: bronze

Achievement description: End a level with negative Quarma.

Comment: We will get negative Quarma if we fail to save at least 80% of the Mudokons in a given level.

This achievement can easily be earned during level 3 - The Blimp. There's only 1 Mudokon to save. Beat the level without saving your buddy.

Bloodless

Trophy type: bronze - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

Trophy type: bronze

Achievement description: End a level with positive Quarma.

Comment: You get positive Quarma if you manage to save at least 80% of the Mudokons in a given mission.

The achievement will be unlocked automatically after completing mission 1 - The Raid on Monsaic. You will always save 100% of Mudokons in this mission.

Soulless

Trophy type: silver

Achievement description: Achieve negative Quarma in five levels.

Comment: This is a harder version of the Heartless achievement. It's best to deal with this trophy during a second playthrough, e.g. when you want to unlock the bad ending.

Soulful

Trophy type: gold

Achievement description: Achieve positive Quarma in five levels.

Comment: This is a harder version of the Bloodless achievement.

You're (Not) On Fire!

Trophy type: silver - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

Trophy type: silver

Achievement description: Escape Monsaic Lines without taking any damage.

Comment: Monsaic Lines is the name of the campaign's first level. Although the level itself isn't difficult, completing it without losing health points can be problematic. Keep the following things in mind:

  1. Avoid touching the fire - Use the water bottles to extinguish the fire whenever possible.
  2. Escape the flying Sligs - They can easily set fire to the path and Abe himself.
  3. Be careful to avoid background shots - We can hide behind cover and only come out when it's safe.

We recommend getting this trophy when replaying level 1, so that we are aware of the dangers awaiting us.

Savin' That Moolah

Trophy type: silver - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

Trophy type: silver

Achievement description: Complete The Eye of the Storm without using a Vendo.

Comment: Eye of the Storm is the title of the final mission 17. It's not easy to complete this mission and fulfill the trophy requirements at the same time. You can't use any Vendos, namely machines that sell ready-made gadgets and crafting ingredients, as well as stations for recycling empty bottles.

It's best to take care of this trophy when replaying mission 17. Focus only on reaching the next locations needed to make progress in this mission and ignore all optional activities, such as e.g. rescuing the Mudokons that are behind the Moolah Gates. Also, try not to use the Brewnade cocktails which you found inside lockers or as a loot, because you will not be able to craft too many of them with the ingredients found outside the Vendos, and Brewnade bottles will be useful for defeating the final bosses.

Friend Of The Mudokons, Part 1

Trophy type: silver - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

Trophy type: silver

Achievement description: Rescued enough Mudokons for good Quarma in Reunion At The Old Trellis.

Comment: This trophy is associated with the battles during the final part of level 8 - Reunion at the Old Trellis. There are 3 fights to take part in, which we have described in detail in our walkthrough.

To get the achievement, you must save at least 204 of the 254 Mudokons (four Mudokons don't take part in the background escape and you can give them orders). If we notice that too many of our allies have already been killed in a given battle, it's a good idea to immediately pause and return to the last checkpoint.

Friend Of The Mudokons, Part 2

Trophy type: silver - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

Trophy type: silver

Achievement description: Rescued enough Mudokons for good Quarma in the Escape level.

Comment: this trophy is linked to the fights in mission 13 - Escape. There are as many as 9 "arenas" to complete. Sligs appear on seven of them and in two locations, Abe has to avoid traps. We've described all the Mudokon escape scenes in detail in our guide.

In order to get this trophy, you must rescue at least 332 out of 414 Mudokons (fourteen Mudokons don't take part in the background escape and you can give them orders). If we notice that too many of our allies have already been killed in a given battle, it's a good idea to immediately pause and return to the last checkpoint.

Too Pure For This World

Trophy type: gold

Achievement description: Beat the game without killing more than 100 Sligs.

Comment: This is a very difficult trophy, which forces you to beat game in a specific way. It is best to earn it during a separate playthrough.

  1. In many situations, saving the Mudokons from death requires you to eliminate the Sligs that pose a threat to them. For the sake of this achievement achievement, we will have to ignore this and let our buddies die.
  2. We need to look for as many options as possible to pass through a given location without killing anyone, because in certain situations killing Sligs is necessary to progress and at some point it may turn out that too many of them are already dead. Let's rely on stunning our enemies, distracting them, and sprinting.
  3. When depossessing a Slig, choose to stun them instead of committing suicide. It will save the Slig from death.
  4. Focus solely on the level's required objectives. Ignore all the optional locations and tasks associated with rescuing Mudokons.
  5. Slog monsters (dogs) and Sleeches (the creatures from The Sanctum level) don't count for the purposes of this achievement. We can safely attack them.

Hardest Mudokon In The West

Trophy type: gold - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

Trophy type: gold

Achievement description: Complete every level without Abe dying.

Comment: This is a very difficult trophy, which forces you to beat game in a specific way. It is best to earn it during a separate playthrough.

The main problem with this achievement is that the the levels in the game are very long and overflowing with traps that can easily kill Abe. We need to use the controls perfectly and know what to do at any given moment. Focus on completing the main objectives of the level and avoid unnecessary risks (such as rescuing Mudokons). In case of failure, select the Restart Level option from the pause menu to repeat the whole stage.

Gameplay Master, Bronze

Trophy type: bronze - Oddworld Soulstorm: Trophies/Achievements - list - Appendix - Oddworld Soulstorm Guide

Trophy type: bronze

Achievement description: Achieved a quarter of the different badges across the whole game.

Comment: As a reminder, badges are, in other words, challenges. Each of the game's levels has its own set of badges - usually you can earn from 3 to 6 types of badges. Each badge has four ranks and the highest rank is platinum - it indicates that you have fulfilled 100% of the challenge's requirements. This trophy and the other challenge trophies listed below take into account the percentage of platinum badges earned. This means that in order to earn the Gameplay Master Bronze achievement, you need to have unlocked 25% of all platinum badges.

All of these challenges are included in our walkthrough of the game. You can return to incomplete or skipped challenges by selecting the option to replay the level.

Gameplay Master, Silver

Trophy type: bronze

Achievement description: Achieved half of the different badges across the whole game

Comment: This is a harder version of the Gameplay Master, Bronze trophy.

Gameplay Master, Gold

Trophy type: silver

Achievement description: Achieved three quarters of the different badges across the whole game.

Comment: This is a harder version of the Gameplay Master, Silver trophy.

Gameplay Master, Platinum

Trophy type: gold

Achievement description: Achieved every badge in the game.

Comment: This is a harder version of the Gameplay Master, Gold trophy. We have to complete 100% of the challenges (badges) in the game.
