Taz is one of the characters you can see in Looney Tunes. On this guide page you will learn how to play this character, read about general tips and the best perks for this character.

Last update: 29 August 2022

Taz in MultiVersus is a Bruiser-class character, meaning he's relatively easy to play as well as balanced damage-wise and durability-wise. On this page, you will learn more about how to be better at using this character in battles with AI or other players.

General tips

Taz has access to two useful signature perks you can make use of in your build - MultiVersus: Taz - How to play? - Bruiser - MultiVersus Guide
  1. Taz can inflict a unique Tasty status effect on enemies. Stacking it 16 times makes the enemy Cooked. This transforms them into a chicken, taking away all their offensive means, though they can still move around and run away.
  2. Taz's Side Special transforms him into a tornado, whether used on the ground or in the air. If you touch an ally while in the tornado form, both of you will be Hastened. This also extends the duration of your transformation.
  3. Attacking Cooked foes drops chicken bits you can pick up to restore health and reduce your damage counter.
  4. Taz automatically licks his allies from time to time when passing by, slightly restoring their health.
  5. Your Neutral Special lets you devour enemies as well as all projectiles. Each projectile you eat gets stashed in your gut. You can then fire them at enemies with Down Special.

Recommended build

Taz has access to two useful signature perks you can make use of in your build. The first is Iron Stomach. Each projectile you swallow turns into an anvil you can burp out, pick up and throw at the enemies. The anvil is considered a projectile and your ally can make use of it as well.

The second skill, I Gotta Get In There!, affects your Up Special, Dogpile!. Your allies can jump into your dogpile, making it deal more damage, last longer, knock enemies back farther and grant you armor.

Both of Taz's signature perks are very viable - MultiVersus: Taz - How to play? - Bruiser - MultiVersus Guide

Both of Taz's signature perks are very viable. Iron Stomach is much more situational though, as it only works if enemies have access to projectiles. The perk is useless if they don't. It's therefore worth equipping when facing enemies with access to projectiles. Otherwise you should equip I Gotta Get In There!.

  1. Percussive Punch Power - an offensive perk, which increases the damage your team deals with attacks that knock enemies back horizontally by 5%. Taz's basic combo and tornado both do so, making this perk a valid choice. Stacking this park increases the damage bonus to 10%.
  2. Leg Day Champ - a utility perk, which increases your team's jump height by 10%. Taz's base jump height isn't too high, which makes this perk a good investment, as it increases his aerial capabilities. The bonus increases to 15% when stacked with an ally.
  3. Tasmanian Trigonometry - a utility perk, which increases your team's base knockback influence by 15%. This is the most important perk Taz can equip, as most of his moves, especially the tornado, come with high knockback. When you stack this perk with an ally, the bonus increases to 25%.

Some of the perks synergize great with Taz, though they are pretty situational. Nevertheless, they're worth considering and using sometimes:

  1. School Me Once... - a defensive perk, which grants your team a projectile block buff for 2 seconds after being knocked back by an enemy projectile. Taz is not too agile and approaching enemies can be problematic for him, so this perk is useful if the enemies have access to projectiles. The buff increases to 4 seconds if stacked with an ally.
  2. Triple Jump - A utility perk which gives your team an additional jump if they hit an enemy in mid-air. Stacking the perk makes the additional jump always available.
  3. Back to Back - a defensive perk, which reduces damage received by 6% when close to an ally. Taz can profit off being in close proximity to allies by using the tornado or the dogpile with the I Gotta Get In There! perk equipped, making Back to Back a good choice. The damage reduction increases to 12% when the perk is stacked.

How to win as Taz?

We recommend sticking close to your ally from the very start, using abilities such as your Side Special or Up Special - MultiVersus: Taz - How to play? - Bruiser - MultiVersus Guide

We recommend sticking close to your ally from the very start, using abilities such as your Side Special or Up Special. The enemies will have a very tough time escaping the tornado after getting caught up in it. If your ally is in the tornado as well, escape will be pretty much impossible.

Use your Side Attack when separated from your ally or fighting 1-on-1 - MultiVersus: Taz - How to play? - Bruiser - MultiVersus Guide

Use your Side Attack when separated from your ally or fighting 1-on-1. Remember - you're shielded when charging this move, and the shield will neutralize a single hit. Take advantage of it whenever you can. You can use this attack both on the ground and in the air.

If you've managed to eat an enemy and you're under no threat from their ally, chew on them a bit before moving to deal some extra damage - MultiVersus: Taz - How to play? - Bruiser - MultiVersus Guide

If you've managed to eat an enemy and you're under no threat from their ally, chew on them a bit before moving to deal some extra damage. Spit them out just before the timer reaches its end.

Try to apply Tasty whenever you can - if you manage to Cook them, you'll disable them for a while and will be able to heal yourself and your allies by attacking them - MultiVersus: Taz - How to play? - Bruiser - MultiVersus Guide

Try to apply Tasty whenever you can - if you manage to Cook them, you'll disable them for a while and will be able to heal yourself and your allies by attacking them. Nearly all your moves can inflict Tasty, so focus on a single enemy once they're almost Cooked.

Remember not to use your Up Special when the enemies are far away - MultiVersus: Taz - How to play? - Bruiser - MultiVersus Guide

Remember not to use your Up Special when the enemies are far away. The dogpile has a long range, but is slow and difficult to control. The move is very easy to punish if executed at a wrong time.
