Tips on battling Rathian in Monster Hunter World: it's strong and weak points and a suggested hunt tactic:
General description
Characteristic: A wyvern known as the "Queen of the Land." Terrestrial predator, it overpowers its prey with a venomous tail and powerful legs.
Known habitat: Ancient Forest, Wildspire Waste
To battle this foe efficiently, you'll have to keep in mind the following information:
- Pick up a fire-resistant armor and deal with the poison by cutting off Rathian's tail. Watch out when you steal an egg from its nest, because a Rathian will chase the thief to the end of the New World.
- A very powerful enemy, best attacked with Dragon-type damage or use the fact that this particular beast is vulnerable to stuns. Prepare some antidote and avoid its fire attacks.
- Fight near hills, places to slide, and use aerial attacks. Especially, of you've got a powerful, heavy weapon.
Resistances and physiology
The beast's weak points are as follows:
- Head (breakable)
- Tail (severable)
- Wings (breakable)
- Additionally, you can break the beast's legs and back.
