2. PS+ subscription: not required, all game content and trophies are also available for users without a PlayStation Plus subscription.

Is there a demo version available?

Yes, a demo version of Middle-earth: Shadow of War was released in July 2018. It is available on all platforms, i.e. PC, PS4 and Xbox One. It enables you to travel freely through Nurn - one of the regions of the game world. In the demo version you can both play missions and check out side activities.
