Weapons in MediEvil MediEvil guide, walkthrough

Last update: 05 November 2019

MediEvil (2019) has the following set of weapons and equipment:

Arm

The left shoulder of our hero, which you probably won't have to use at all. You can use it to attack enemies at close range or throw it. It serves as the last resort weapon when you run out of ammo for ranged weapons (knives, crossbow, or bow). Also, since Dan uses his left arm as a weapon, he can't equip a shield.

Small sword

Sir Dana Fortesque's first and primary weapon. Suitable only in the first levels of zombies and imps. Has a secondary attack that can be charged - Dan performs a 360 degrees attack. You will find it in Dan's Crypt.

Throwing daggers

Not counting the left arm, this is your first ranged weapon. You will find it in Dan's Crypt. Dan throws a single dagger in a straight line, or you can throw them at the nearest enemy. Has a secondary charged attack - Dan throws 3 daggers at the same time at a single opponent. You can purchase additional daggers from Merchant Gargoyles or re-enter Dan's Crypt and collect them for free.

Copper shield

Use the Block to parry attacks. It has 150 durability. You can find it in the chests scattered throughout the levels.

Dan's Helmet

A new item added in the remake. The description of this helmet says - "Weak against arrows. And everything else." When you put it on, the enemies will deal you more damage. This item puts you in Hard mode. Interesting fact: In the original game from 1998, this helmet was present but only in the Japanese version.

Silver shield

Use the Block to parry attacks. It has 250 durability. You can find it in the chests scattered throughout the levels.

Gold shield

You can block and parry attacks with it by using the block button. It has 400 durability. You will not find it in the game world. You will get it from one of the heroes In the Hall of Heroes. It can be repaired at the Merchant Gargoyle.

Broad Sword

The second sword of Sir Dan Fortesque. Average damage, you can charge it at the Merchant Gargoyle (then it has the same power as the Magic Sword). Has a secondary attack that can be charged - Dan performs a 360 degrees attack. You will get it from one of the heroes in the Hall of Heroes.

Magic sword

It's the best melee weapon in MediEvil. It kills monsters with just a few blows. Has a secondary attack that can be charged - Dan performs a 260 degrees attack. You will get it from one of the heroes in the Hall of Heroes.

Club

Available to get only on a few levels. Serves the role of a Hammer (can destroy obstacles such as boulders, etc.). However, it can be also used as a torch. It's a key item in several levels of the game. It can get destroyed.

Hammer

An improved version of Club. It has a charged attack that causes an explosion which wounds all enemies in the surrounding area. Unlike Club it cannot be used like a torch, but it's indestructible. You will get it from one of the heroes in the Hall of Heroes.

Axe

In short, it's an enhanced version of Dan's Arm. It works just the same way.

Chicken Drumstick

After throwing it near enemy (3 meters) it will turn your opponent into a roasted chicken. Then you may just pass through the chicken to restore 20 hp. It can be obtained only from Forest Witch after completing a task she commissions in the Ant Caverns.

Crossbow

Causes small damage but has a high rate of fire. However, you will only use it in the first levels until you get a Long Bow.

Long Bow

Very good ranged weapon. Remake added a charged attack which launches a powerful arrow that causes tremendous amount of damage. You get it from a Centaur in the Hall of Heroes.

Flaming Longbow

An even better version of the bow. Remake added a charged attack that ignites all enemies in the vicinity of the explosion of the arrow. You get it from a Centaur in the Hall of Heroes.

Magic Longbow

Best bow available in the game. It has a chargeable attack that causes serious damage to enemies in the vicinity of explosion caused by an arrow. You get it from a Centaur in the Hall of Heroes.

Spear

A weapon almost equal to the Magic Longbow. You can throw it at enemies dealing serious damage or use a charged attack (new feature of this weapon in the remake) to deal colossal damage.

Lightning

One of the last weapons you will get from the hero at Hall of Heroes. One of the weakest weapons available in the game. After use, it strikes nearby enemies with lightning, causing rather low damage. There is a rechargeable attack available that hits all nearby opponents. This is still a less effective weapon. However, you can charge it at Merchant Gargoyle. In the original, after depletion of the charge the weapon has simply vanished - it was not a great loss.

Dragon Armor

A key item that is required to complete the Gallow's Gauntlet level. It allows you to pass through a fiery gate. It can be used to breathe fire, but attacking the enemy with a Small Sword is more effective than attacking it with features of this armor. You'll obtain it in the Crystal Caves after defeating the old dragon.
