Last update: 02 June 2017

How to Unlock: Meet up with Nakmor Drack [Tempest].

This section contains a walkthrough for Nakmor Drack: Krogan Betrayal - one of the "allies and relationships" side quests found in Mass Effect Andromeda. Krogan Betrayal involves helping Nakmor Drack, a Krogan who joins the party in the final part of A Better Beginning. The protagonist has to help Drack in investigating one William Spender from Nexus, who is suspected of pursuing an anti-Krogan agenda in the Initiative-controlled parts of galaxy.

Talk to Drack

Drack will ask for your help in investigating Spender

You can unlock the quest once Nakmor Drack has joined the party (at the end of A Better Beginning). Once you're back on the Tempest, find Drack and talk to him. He'll ask you to take a look at anti-Krogan activities of William Spender, an inhabitant of Nexus.

Find Spender on the Nexus

Spender can be found not far from the Tempests landing site - Nakmor Drack: Krogan Betrayal | Allies and Relationships - Allies and Relationships quests - Mass Effect: Andromeda Game Guide
Spender can be found not far from the Tempest's landing site

Proceed to Nexus: Docking Bay and find Spender, who should be not far from the Tempest's landing site. Your target will be busy interrogating Del Jasin, a frightened Salarian. Once Spender leaves the area, talk with Jasin and offer your help.

Talk with Nakmor Kesh

Use the rail and travel to Nexus: Operations Center to meet up with Nakmor Kesh. He'll back you up, but first you'll need to get the security footage that will indict Spender.

Talk with Kandros to get access to the footage

Proceed to the security precinct to find Tiran Kandros. This conversation will be short - you'll receive access to the security footage.

Use the computer to check the recording

The surveillance station is right next to Kandros. Use the computer to learn that the recording has been damaged - fortunately, we've learned that the action was performed by someone from the planet Kadara.

Confront Spender following the damaged footage

Spender can be found on the higher floor of the operations center. The conversation will be cut short, making you unable to get ahead with the case.

Find the planet mentioned by the security system

The quest can be followed upon once you've managed to visit Kadara, which is currently an unavailable destination. For now, you'll need to proceed with the main story until you've received the ability to travel to the planet. You must complete A Trail of Hope quest and unlock the next main one - Hunting the Archon. Finally, you are able to travel to Govorkam, the star system that is home to Kadara.

Talk with SAM

Once you've reached your destination, leave the galaxy map and proceed to the captain's quarters to talk with SAM. You'll receive additional details of your mission.

Investigate Spender's contact on Kadara

The destination are the buildings taken by exiles

You must land on planet Kadara. Travel to the wilderness and go to the place, marked by the game, in the south-west part. During your trip you receive a warning about a mine field so you should leave Nomad and travel on foot.

Defeat the exiles

The area is overrun by exiles that you must defeat. Use big rocks to avoid their fire when you are on your way to the buildings. You should also take into account that you can face reinforcements.

Search the hideout in order to find tracks

Enter the main room of the hideout and find the datapad with a message. You receive Andromeda Viability Points and you learn that you must return on Nexus.

Search Spender's room and find the scrambler

Go back on Nexus and go on the upper level of Nexus: Docking Bay (Common Area) - Nakmor Drack: Krogan Betrayal | Allies and Relationships - Allies and Relationships quests - Mass Effect: Andromeda Game Guide

Go back on Nexus and go on the upper level of Nexus: Docking Bay (Common Area). There are a few flats here, one of them belongs to Spender. Break into the apartment. In Spender's flat you can find:

  • three datapads
  • Initative Fighter Model
  • three audiologs (one of them requires a confirmation that you want to break into the system)
  • terminal with a few messages
  • supply chest
  • interactive bookshelf

The most important thing to find is the scrambler which is hidden behind the big screen presented in the picture. Turn the camera so you can see it.

Speak with Communications officer

Use the tram and travel to Nexus: Operations Center. Communications officer can be found on the highest level of this area. You can reveal that the scrambler was in Spender's flat or save that information for yourself (this choice has no impact on the quest's ending).

Speak with Drack on Tempest

Return to the Tempest and speak with Drack. Thanks to that you unlock a new Loyalty Mission called Nakmor Drack: A future for Our People.

Rewards for finishing the quest: XP, Andromeda Initiative Points, a new Loyalty Mission Nakmor Drack: A Future for Our People unlocked.
