On this page of the game guide to Mass Effect 3 we have prepared key information on potential unfinished romances while playing a female Shepard. We explain what romances from the previous installments of the series are no longer continued and what are the reasons for this state of affairs.
Unfinished or interrupted romance - why?
In Mass Effect 3 you will come across a few characters with whom it was possible to romance in the second part of the series, but despite this, it is no longer possible to continue these relationships. This is solely due to the marginal role of specific characters in the events of the new campaign. In the case of playing as a female Commander Shepard we are mainly talking about the two figures mentioned in the following paragraphs.
Thane Krios
Thane Krios can be met after completing the main mission on Palaven and after receiving a message - This address still works? (only if he did not die in Mass Effect 2).
Go to the Citadel, specifically to the clinic. You can start your meeting with Thane with a kiss (special behavior option), and also suggest going to some secluded place. But that's where your relationship ends. Because, as you probably remember from the previous part of the series, Thane did not have much time left.
Regardless of whether Thane was shot during the mission to repel the attack on the Citadel or not, it is worth going back to the clinic to be with him in the last moments of his life.
Jacob Taylor
Jacob Taylor can be encountered during a side task (only if he is still alive) related to the Ex-Cerberus scientists who are residing on Arrae.
The opportunity to talk with Jacob will appear during your stay at the research facility and even then you'll find that in the meantime, he's been in a good relationship with Dr. Brynn Cole. You can't change that, but if you're inquisitive, you'll find out that Jacob still has feelings for the main character.
After saving Ex-Cerberus' scientists, you can meet with Jacob. You can find him in the clinic on the Citadel and receive the joyful news that he's expecting a child together with Brynn. The game also provides an opportunity to contact Taylor in the final part of game, that is, during your stay at the camp in London.
