Jack - preliminary requirements and key aspects of this romance
- For obvious reasons, you can have an affair with Jack only if she didn't die in the finale of Mass Effect 2.
- The game does not allow you to start a romance with Jack from a scratch so the only solution is to continue the relationship started in the second part of the series (you cannot change this aspect in any way).
How to establish and develop a romance
You won't meet Jack automatically during the new campaign, so you have to try to find her on your own. In order to come across Jack it is necessary to take a side task called Grissom Academy - Emergency Evacuation. We have prepared a detailed walkthrough of this mission in the Quests outside Citadel chapter available in our game guide.
While playing this mission, you will find out that Jack is one of the trainers in the adept academy. Just after the end of the battle with the mech and the soldiers of Cerberus, you will have your first conversation and it is worth starting it with spontaneous kiss, that is, by using the special behavior option (screenshot above). Also, do not hesitate to take the opportunity to carry out a longer conversation with Jack even before heading to the atrium.
The second opportunity to express your feelings will appear after you escape from the academy by using a space shuttle. During the flight to Normandy you will be able to kiss Jack again (also in this case it is required to use the special behavior option).
Warning! If you'll miss your visit to Grissom Academy then not only you're not going to re-establish your relationship with Jack but you can also encounter her as an opponent in one of the final tasks of the game.
After completing the mission in the academy, the game in no way suggests how you can continue the relationship with Jack.
You must return to the Citadel, go to the Spectre Office and use the terminal. Search for an item named Authorization of access to the Citadel (screenshot above) and click on the Authorize button. This will allow Jack and other trainers of Grissom Academy to receive a special accommodation on The Citadel.
Finale of romance with Jack
The chance to once again meet with Jack will appear only after the completion of the main mission associated with repelling the attack of Cerberus forces on the Citadel. Read the content of received message titled Meet me at the bar? (this is an optional step) and go to Purgatory Bar.
The game does not show the exact location of Jack on the map, but it is not difficult to find her, as you should notice her, rather easily, sitting near the stairs leading to the dance floor (screenshot above). During the conversation you have to confirm the desire to get involved into closer relationship with Jack.
It is worth adding that Jack does not appear in person in the final part of the game. However, after reaching the camp in London you will be able to talk to her by using the communication terminal.
