Quick earning in Mashinky. During majority of the game (and especially early in the game) you will need large quantity of green tokens. The quickest way to get it is constructing a few passenger connections. Find two nearby cities on the map. Start with two large cities. It is best if they aren't further than 10-20 fields from each other. If you can't find two cities, one large city and one smaller one will be sufficient - what's important is that they are close to each other.

Both stations have many buildings in their range and after upgrading them the number of buildings in range will increase even more.

Build the stations in such way that they reach as many buildings (1) as possible and at the same time place them as close to each other as possible (2). You will construct a waiting room upgrade in the station that has more buildings in the range (3). This will greatly increase the number of passengers appearing on that station. Now add a depot (4) and activate the first train. Set 3-4 passengers carriages in it. After some time you will add more carriages or upgrade the locomotive. Then construct 2-3 similar connections until you start making profits. Speed up time because first trains are really slow. Your trains will quickly start earning on passengers because the distance and transport time aren't considered when calculating profits.

There are many passengers waiting on the station, so adding another line should solve the overcrowding problem and increase the passenger transport profits.

If you notice a passengers' surplus and there is another city nearby, you should expand the connection. Add another station, and then create a separate connection and a new line. Although you will be transporting passengers in one direction only (the returning course might be even empty), the line will generate profits. Or, if the surplus is small, you can create additional stations and make a longer line (with still just a single train).
