This page of the guide to Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy contains a walkthrough for Mission 5 (Due or Die). The walkthrough explains how to complete the power supply puzzle, how to defeat enemy soldiers and how to escape the Rock.
For more information about the location of the secrets in Chapter 5, check the Secrets and collectibles chapter. We've marked all collectibles with green.
Find Ko-Rel to pay your fine
As the chapter begins, you can once again explore the Milano and have some optional conversations with your teammates or head to the captain's bridge to progress to the level proper.
This mission takes place in The Rock outpost of the Nova Corps. Leave the Milano and start walking through the empty station. You must use the passageway leading to the waiting room.
Break into the base
There's a new puzzle to solve in the waiting room, which requires you to supply power to the large side door.
Look into the small side room to find a secret - Archives: The Golden Force. The same room also contains a hatch, as pictured above. Shoot it with your blasters and send Rocket inside. He'll reach a room on the other side of the bulletproof glass pane, letting you start the second part of the puzzle.
To solve it you must use the visor to track the electricity flow (picture 1). You can interact with the switches to divert power.
One of the optional connections unlocks a second side room containing an Outfit: Nova Corps - Drax. Your objective is to lead two connections to the large door on picture 2. This will unlock your way deeper into the outpost.
This level is mostly linear. In one of the side rooms you'll walk past there's a cell with a prisoner inside - you can free them, although it doesn't have any meaningful consequences (aside from a cage appearing in the background).
In the large control room you'll find a Guardian Collectible: Cold Case File. In the same area you should talk to Rocket and select the smaller door to the side. Look around carefully when walking down the corridors or you may miss a secret lying on the ground - Archives: Elevator A23.
You'll reach an armor hall, where a broken door blocks your way forward. Fire your blasters at the upper panel pictured above, then use ice on the exposed mechanism to freeze it.
You'll enter a room with a large armor set and a workbench. You can find a collectible here - Archives: Memo: Suit Protocol.
Further corridors will lead you to a new closed door, you must ask Rocket to hack the panel.
You need to make a decision in the new room, although it's not too important:
- If Star-Lord speaks after putting on the helmet you'll alert a group of soldiers. Talking is futile once they appear. After determining they're hostile, an additional battle will start. It's not too challenging - we recommend using at least one AoE ability right off the bat.
- If you put down the helmet without speaking you'll skip this encounter, but this doesn't mean you'll be able to stay undetected for the rest of the chapter.
Escape the Rock
There's an elevator neighboring the helmet room, regardless of your previous choice you'll notice that other soldiers are also hostile towards you. You'll have to fight them.
During the battles you'll encounter shieldbearers aside from numerous standard soldiers. Try to flank them when they're busy fighting your teammates and use ice attacks to fill their stagger bars.
The battle will be long, once it ends walk down some more corridors where you'll have to fight more enemies. Examine the side rooms you walk by during the encounters, as one of them contains a corpse with a collectible - Archives: If Anyone Finds This...
Reach the big blue door and open it to find the final secret in this chapter - Outfit: Nova Corps - Groot. Take it and then climb up (pictured above).
Continue down the linear path - you'll have to move past windows through which you can see people gathered by an altar. In the next area command Rocket to hack a panel and complete the subsequent fight.
Use the next elevator. Your destination is the pictured command center.
Destroy the Clamps
You must destroy six yellow clamps, the order of doing so doesn't matter. The visor is very helpful with locating them. Two of the clamps require you to jump onto the spaceship's roof, watch out not to fall. Destroy every single clamp with your blasters.
When finishing this mission objective you can (but don't have to) engage in combat. Don't try to eliminate all enemies. Only kill those who get in your way.
