On this page of the guide, you will learn how long will it take to beat Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy from 2021. We explain how long the main storyline is and whether a single playthrough is enough to get everything. You can also learn much additional time you will need to spend on GotG to get 100% of the secrets, collectibles, and trophies.
- Guardians of the Galaxy offers quite a long single-player campaign for a linear title. The campaign consists of 16 chapters and most of them are relatively long. Your first playthrough should take you about 20 hours. This value assumes that you will choose the normal difficulty level - it offers the optimal level of challenge. Besides that, it assumes that you won't examine every location in 100% to get all the collectibles and additional loot.
- You can't discover everything by going through the game just once. Important choices appear in specific moments of the game - they can have a significant impact on the course of individual scenes or on obtaining unique rewards from NPCs. So the optimal solution will be to go through the game twice - you can do that by choosing the New Game Plus mode which becomes available after beating the main story (there is also an option to repeat finished chapters, but without overwriting previous decisions).
- Guardians of the Galaxy rewards a more thorough exploration - you will be able to find crafting components. You will also be able to find almost 130 different kinds of secrets and collectibles. This can increase the playtime by several hours, especially since some secrets are blocked by environmental puzzles.
- The platinum trophy in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is not very problematic and does not force you to complete the game 100 percent (you do not need, for example, to find all of the secrets). However, you must remain vigilant as some achievements can be easily missed. You can try to get any missed achievements by replaying the chapters or leaving them for the second playthrough in the New Game Plus mode.
