The following page describes the tools that you can use in Lost Ark to obtain resources (Trade Skills): you will learn the differences between tools of the same class and how to produce them.
About the tools
There are six activities and each of them requires different tools. They will wear out over time, losing their parameters and bonuses, but you can repair them at any blacksmith. The same goes for weapons - you just need to change the tab at the bottom of the screen to Trade Skills (pay in silver). Tools do not break completely. If they break (durability 0), you simply cannot use them until they are repaired.
Basic tools can be purchased at the store - however, they may seem a bit expensive for a beginning player. Fortunately, you will receive some tools for free after learning each of the Trade Skills using the tutorials (the Guides tab in the log (J), from Lakebar through the further areas).
Differences between tools
Tools of the same level are different from each other. This applies to both higher level tools and the basic green ones. Each tool has different bonuses and you can't see this at first glance, only by comparing the Basic Effect section when you expand the tool details. Bonuses can affect the speed of foraging, the chance to get more resources at once or the frequency of finding rare items. An additional bonus is Super Armor. This feature allows you to collect resources while being attacked by enemies (if you go foraging in areas with low enemy level, you don't have to worry about them).
Crafting tools
The tools of higher levels are meant for experienced players. Reaching a level higher than Rare (blue) will not be an easy task at the beginning. This is because in order to craft new tools, the following criteria has to be met:
- Developing a proper level of Stronghold (and Workshop) - depending on the level of tools you want to craft;
- Getting rare chests - Crafting Kit (a very rare item), which can be obtained through Excavating or can be purchased;
- Having the right recipes and materials, which can be purchased, mined or crafted, like Tool Crafting Part (this is done in Strongholds or in towns by a Processor).
Tools cannot be traded. You can exchange only the component items.
