Every ship you own in Lost Ark can, and should, be upgraded. On this page you will learn how upgrading affects the ship, how to upgrade the ship and where to get the materials.
How do I upgrade my ship?
You can upgrade your ships at any port. Once docked, use the Upgrade button in the upper right corner on the ship you chose to see the requirements for the upgrade and what stats will improve. For basic upgrades (up to level 5), you need low-level materials that are easy to acquire and produce. From level five onwards, you need materials, which must be purchased from the sea traders on the continents of the west (Sea of Procyon).
Materials - Basic Timber
Basic Timber is a type of wood that you can purchase during harvest. You can also exchange other varieties of wood in the Stronghold harbor as a transfer. You can also purchase it at the Market.
Materials - Blueprints
You will find a Tea and Libra merchant ship in every port. They offer Blueprints to ships for Gienah's Coins at 25x a piece. This is not an optimal transaction.
Sometimes you can get the blueprints for quests. However, a great way is to purchase them in Stronghold from merchants, for Seals gained for Dispatches. This will save you a significant number of valuable sea trading coins, but the traders' offer is limited to 8, and most upgrades require 30. Therefore, upgrading may take longer if you use the "cheaper" method.
Materials - Ship Parts
You can prepare materials for your ship by using merchants in towns, described as Processor.
They have a fabrication menu where you can construct Ship Parts Material of any type - as long as you have the materials. Additionally, don't forget to pay the creation fee shown above the Request button.
