The following Lost Ark guide page explains what Combat Stats/Battle Stats are. You will learn what Domination, Swiftness, and Specialization mean and how to modify them using Jewelry.
What are Combat Stats?
Each hero has Battle/Combat Stats. They affect their effectiveness in combat, influencing specific attributes: defensive attacks, critical attacks, or using special skills. The Combat Stats are as follows:
- Crit - affects the chance of critical damage, but not its strength.
- Specialization - depending on the hero has a slightly different effect - it directly affects the hero's Meter, transformations, and "states" related to it, and special abilities like Awakening.
- Domination - affects the damage dealt to opponents with statuses and debuffs like Pushed, Staggered. Developing it may be advisable for characters who use debuffs with their basic attacks.
- Swiftness - affects how fast you can move and attack and the cooldown of skills.
- Endurance - influences character's vitality: defense, health, and regeneration rate (including the healing effect of potions and spells).
- Expertise - affects how long debuffs work on enemies. It also shortens the debuffs effect on the character.
For the majority of advanced builds, the most important stats are: Crit, Specialization, and Swiftness.
How to modify Combat Stats?
The main stat modifier is jewelry: earrings, rings, necklaces. You can wear two earrings and rings at a time. No jewelry gives a boost to all attributes, but one or two, eventually three. This way, you can develop your hero's specific traits or balance them, for example, if you have problems with defense.
Jewelry can also have Engraving, which we have described on a separate page. All of these bonuses and the possibility to upgrade jewelry will only be possible after you have acquired Tier 1 items.
Indirectly, stats can be also slightly increased by other factors: special potions and books, which are acquired (and automatically consumed) in certain quests, the reward for secrets, and the Roster level. However, these are small bonuses and do not significantly affect stats at lower levels.
If you are a new player, pay attention to jewelry when exchanging your equipment for better ones. If you see a blue arrow next to a piece of jewelry and compare stats by hovering over items, you will usually notice that the arrow is there for a reason - the class of the item may be lower, but it raises some attributes while lowering others. Moreover: by clicking PPM in the inventory, you only swap one ring/earring. Open the P hero preview panel to manually change the jewellery!
How to check Combat Stats details?
By expanding Combat Stats panel by selecting the Details button, you will get detailed information about your stats. This way you will be able to accurately determine your hero's statistics and traits and, based on that, choose your strategy or find weaknesses of your build.
