On this page of our guide we show how to extend Health and Heat gauges in Like a Dragon: Ishin. Our guide shows the main ways, both permanent and temporary, of increasing the size of Health and Heat (energy used for special attacks) bars.
Extending the Health gauge
The Health bar shows the amount of health points your hero has. Health increases with each new level, but there are other techniques for getting more than a meager upgrade.
There are Health Increase slots on the trees of each fighting style. Buying them (for a Training Orb, or Orb of a given fighting style) unlocks permanent extensions of the Health bar, and the increase is larger than in the case of a level-up.
Beginning from Chapter 5, there are other options available, as you can use Trooper cards to extend the health gauge. In the description of each card, look for Health - the more health points the card has, the better.
Extra health points from Trooper cards are marked in orange, and they connect with the main red health bar. Unfortunately, this is not a permanent increase, as the size of the orange bar can change based on what cards you have equipped.

Extending the Heat gauge
Heat is the energy used to activate Heat Actions , i.e. various special attacks.
