Multiplayer and 2 player mode
There is no co-op in Like a Dragon: Ishin. You cannot play locally or online with another player to complete the campaign together. You can only play the single-player mode.
Ishin also does not have multiplayer, although some activities are constructed in such a way that when playing on one console, you can give the controller to another player and play again, for example, a karaoke mini-game. However, you will not find a real two-player mode.
Allies in the game
AI-controlled allies appear in the game. You have no control over them.
They won't accompany you for the entire game. They appear only at certain moments in the plot, e.g. during a main or side quest. They can then follow Ryoma.
Fighting together with companions
Companions can help you in fights - they will automatically attack the closest opponents. Unfortunately, there is no option to give them commands, but on the other hand, you don't have to worry about their health. You can simply focus on winning a fight faster.
