Poe to the Rescue | Minikits and red bricks LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Guide

This page provides information on location and how to obtain ten minikits and a red LEGO brick in this additional mission - "Poe to the rescue". Try to find these collectibles in the free game mode. Additionally, read information provided below, where you find information such as how to prepare yourself properly for the hunt.

Important information

It is best to try to find collectibles in this chapter in the free game mode, only after you have unlocked a greater number of playable characters. Only several of those collectibles can be found while playing this chapter for the first time (in the story mode).

You do not have to prepare yourself in any specific way for this chapter. You can obtain all of the collectibles as characters that you have obtained throughout the story mode and on Admiral Ackbar, who becomes one of the playable characters in this chapter by default.

You have to watch out during the flight on the space ship, later into the chapter. Minikits 8 and 9 are easy to miss and, if only you miss them, you will have to replay the mission all over again.

Apart from obtaining the collectibles, you can try to obtain the title of the True Jedi. It is awarded in this mission "Poe to the rescue" after you collect, at least 120000 studs.

Minikit 1/10

Special requirements: character that uses the Force (e.g. Luke or Darth Vader)

Location and how to unlock: You can obtain this minikit soon after this stage starts. Drive away the monster lurking in the water and walk over to the further part of the trash compactor. On the left, you should notice a partially submerged droid. Stand in the spot shown in the above screenshot and select any character that uses the Force. Use the Force to get the droid out of the water and destroy it. Thanks to this, you will obtain bricks that you can use to build this minikit.

Minikit 2/10

Special requirements: none

Location and how to unlock: You can obtain this minikit either in the story mode or in the free game mode. Perform the obligatory action by the trash compactor, where one of them is using the rotating mechanism to unfold the bridge. Use the bridge to get to the bottom-left part of the compactor. In here, there is the water body shown in the above screenshot. Jump into the water as Admiral Ackbar. He will bring out fragments of minikit, which you only have to assemble.

Minikit 3/10 - grappling point 1

Special requirements: none

Location and how to unlock: You can obtain this minikit either in the story mode or in the free game mode. To obtain the minikit, you have to grapple onto interactive grappling points as any of the character using grappling hook. The first grappling point is in the spot where you leave the trash compactor. Ignore the troopers in the distance and go towards the bottom of the screen. The grappling point is on the left (the above screenshot).

Red LEGO brick

Reward for obtaining the brick: Infinite Torpedoes

Special requirements: a character that uses the dark side of the Force (e.g. Darth Vader)

Location and how to unlock: You can find the Red LEGO brick right after you escape from the trash compactor and reach the hangar. Eliminate the troopers there, in the first corridor, and destroy gas tanks on the left shown in the above screenshot. Thanks to this, you will gain access to a secret room on the left.

You will walk into Kylo Ren's room. To obtain the red LEGO brick, you have to use the dark side of the Force (as e.g. Darth Vader) on all interactive objects in this room.

Minikit 3/10 - grappling points 2 and 3

You find the second grappling point soon after you have disabled the first force field. You will walk into the area with the scanner. Go to the changing room on the left. The grappling point is right next to the room.

You will find the third grappling point after you have used the headdress that you have taken from the changing room. In the next corridor, find the grappling point on the right. You can rip it off, still before you start the first blaster fight.

Minikit 4/10

Special requirements: none

Location and how to unlock: You can obtain this minikit either in the story mode or in the free game mode. You can obtain it right after the blaster fight in the hangar (i.e. after the one in which you free the rancor). You have to do this before the elevator ride. Explore the upper-left corner of the hangar. Destroy the objects there to reveal the hatch shown in the above screenshot.

Take the hatch as BB-8, thanks to which you will get to the upper balcony. In the new area, find the socket that BB-8 can use. sing the socket will reveal the minikit below.

Minikit 5/10

Special requirements: none

Location and how to unlock: You can obtain this minikit either in the story mode or in the free game mode. It is in the same hangar as the above one. After the blaster battle, examine the left part of the hangar. In the spot shown in the above screenshot, Chewbacca or any other character that uses thermal detonators, can destroy silver pipes and reveal the collectible.

Minikit 6/10

Special requirements: character that uses the Force (e.g. Luke or Darth Vader)

Location and how to unlock: This minikit is in the same hangar as the above two. Explore the upper-right corner of the hangar. Jump onto the ledge above, stand in the spot shown in the above screenshot and select any of the characters that uses the Force. Use the Force to move the crates around. You can now start jumping over them to reach the minikit hidden behind crates.

Minikit 7/10

Special requirements: none

Location and how to unlock: You can obtain this minikit either in the story mode or in the free game mode. It becomes possible to obtain it during the elevator ride. BEFORE you start the ride, make sure that there is, at least, one character that uses blaster, among the active ones. Wait for the elevator to approach the power station with several troopers inside. The plan is to fire at the two buttons shown in the above screenshot. There is no need for you to aim manually, because after you open blaster fire, you should hit the buttons automatically. Destroying both of the buttons will reward you with this minikit.

Minikit 8/10

Special requirements: none

Location and how to unlock: You can obtain this minikit either in the story mode or in the free game mode. You have to progress to the last main part of the mission that starts with your flight across the asteroid field. During that scene, fly through rings of studs. The minikit is in one of the rings and you have to steer towards it perfectly, to grab it in mid-air.

Minikit 9/10

Special requirements: none

Location and how to unlock: You can obtain this minikit either in the story mode or in the free game mode. You obtain also this one during your flight across the asteroid field. In this case, you will have to destroy the green crystals that appear in your way. In total, there are seven of them and examples of such crystals have been provided in the above screenshot. You cannot make a misstep here, so try to spot crystals while they are still far away and focus completely on destroying them (while ignoring enemy units).

Minikit 10/10

Special requirements: none

Location and how to unlock: You can obtain this minikit either in the story mode or in the free game mode. You have to progress to the battle above the giant asteroid. Start by completing the first phase of the battle, where you have to shoot down a dozen-or-so TIE fighters. After you collect the torpedo, DO NOT USE IT to destroy one of the big rocks connected with a mission objective. Instead, use them to destroy the small violet crystals. An example of such a crystal has been shown in the above screenshot and you have to destroy three of them.
