The game has a lot of optional challenges

In this chapter you can find information and tips for the challenges and activities. They are side quest elements and are not connected to the main campaign. By completing each challenge you get a Gold brick but sometimes you can also get additional rewards (more details below).

Time Trials: in these challenges you have to race with time by using various vehicles and go through checkpoints. After driving through each one of checkpoints you get additional time. There may be instances that in order to complete a Time Trial you will have to fulfill other requirements (complete a mission/build) - those exceptions are pointed by the markers on the maps of locations. If you want to make these challenges easier you should get the following Red bricks: Nitrous for All (Blackwell Bridge) that can help you in the Time Trials and Longer Vehicle Boost. Remember that when you use all your nitro you recover it back faster than, say, using half of it. By completing a Time Trial challenge you get a character token.

Freerun: First, you have to find a token that unlocks a Freerun challenge (unless it was unlocked after completing a mission). Then, you have to collect a given number of markers to complete this type of challenges. This means that you can't simply reach the finish line. You can cheat a little bit and use an astronaut disguise with a jetpack to beat obstacles in places that weren't meant for that. By completing a Freerun challenge you get a character token.

Drill Thrill: This challenge must be done in a construction worker disguise. You have to use a jackhammer on shaking blocks on a ground. Of course, you must do this in a certain amount of time. The challenges are easy and the only problem that you may have with them is to find their starting place: those places are always a button on a ground connected to a electric switch. Fix a box and press a button to activate a challenge. You get no rewards for completing a single challenge. Completing them all gives you the following reward: Rod Stanchion.

Vehicle Robbery: In this challenges you play as a bad guy. You must steal vehicles from garages and deliver them to appointed places. You don't have any time limits, the only requirement is to get to an appointed place with your vehicle intact while you are chased by police. As a reward you get a vehicle token. Completing them all gives you the following reward: Old Quiang.

Vehicle Robbers: this challenge is similar to the one above but now you are a "good guy". First, you must use your scanner to track (this is easy to do because a criminal never moves on a scanner) and then catch a car thief before they reach a goal. You must destroy their vehicle first by crashing into them and then you must catch them on foot. As a reward you get a vehicle token. Completing them all gives you the following reward: Chuck Morrison.

Gang Investigations: these police challenges often requires you to reach high places and find suspicious voices by using a scanner. When you locate criminals you can briefly see a place that you have to reach in a certain amount of time - when you get there you must usually catch five bandits. These challenges should be done in a police disguise - rope is great for constraining enemies. You get no rewards for completing a single challenge. Completing them all gives you the following reward: Marion Dunby.

Pigs Returned: In this challenge you have to find pigs that belong to a farmer, the one that you met during the campaign. Each one of the pigs must be taken to the nearest cannon (when you get on a pig the navigation will lead you to that place). After that you must change into a farmer disguise and shoot them from a cannon, the same way as you did during the mission. You get no rewards for completing a single challenge. Completing them all gives you the following reward: Jethro Hayes.

Cat Rescued: This tasks are very easy - you simply have to stand on the right markers while dressed as a firefighter and press the action button to rescue a cat that is stuck in a high place. However, these challenges are usually placed in hard-to-reach places, mainly on rooftops of buildings. You get no rewards for completing a single challenge. Completing them all gives you the following reward: Cornelius Burns.

Aliens Caught: Aliens are summoned by scattered astronaut crates (this means that you have to own an astronaut disguise) in various parts of the city. These challenges aren't difficult - in order to win you only have to chase an alien and catch him. You get no rewards for completing a single challenge. Completing them all gives you the following reward: Space Alien.

Boulders: Boulders can be destroyed by using a pickaxe which is usable when you are in a miner disguise. The boulders that must be destroyed are light gray and are surrounded by flowers. They are often hidden under other black boulders. You get no rewards for completing a single challenge. Completing them all gives you the following reward: Barney Greenschist.

Coffee Break: These challenges are unlocked as the last ones, after getting a construction worker disguise. You must find tables with red jugs and interact with them in order to drink coffee - nothing more. You get no rewards for completing a single challenge. Completing them all gives you the following reward: Albert Spindelrouter.

District Conquer: The flags are placed by the astronaut. They are always placed in high places, usually on the highest point in a district. You get no rewards for completing a single challenge. Completing them all gives you the following reward: Rex Fury.

Silver Statues: There are big, silver statues of Rex Fury scattered around the city. You must destroy them by using a dynamite. You get no rewards for completing a single challenge. Completing them all gives you the following reward: Mine Foreman.

Flowers Watered: Very simple challenges in which, as a gardener, you must water flowers in green flowerpots. They can be easily mistaken with flowerpots that have plants that help you to get to hard to reach places. The plants in this challenge are small flowers that have no other use. You get no rewards for completing a single challenge. Completing them all gives you the following reward: Squirrel McTavish.

BBQ: As a firefighter you must put out burning BBQs. You can notice them easily, even from far away. You get no rewards for completing a single challenge. Completing them all gives you the following reward: Forest Fireman.

ATMs: ATMs can be destroyed almost right after starting the game, you only have to own a robber disguise. Everyone can use an ATM but only a robber can destroy them which is the goal of these challenges. You get no rewards for completing a single challenge. Completing them all gives you the following reward: Bandit.
