After a very serious accident, the wife of a painter known from the first act of the game, falls into a marasmus due to the limitations of her crippled body. Alienated by her own beloved, she wanders through the corridors of their mansion to find an answer to the question concerning her own future.
A symbolic representation of the main character's bindings are the chains which are spread all over the mansion, "decorating" the area in this act.
Leave the bedroom and go to the room on the left side of the floor (next to the child's sleeping room). You will find a flashlight in one of the next corridors - holding down RMB will direct the beam of light, while using LMB will focus that beam.
The woman's flashlight works similarly to a painter's lamp. Used too long it will overheat, which will put it out of service for a few seconds
Moving image sequence
In the room with the painting hanging on chains, you'll have to rotate the image by 90 degrees. Every time you do this, the space outside the room will gently change.
Turn the picture, then walk through the looping corridor and rooms to find 3 medical tools. Place them on the table in the room with the painting.
When you collect the whole set, move the picture in such a way that it shows the doors with torn boards. Leaving the room, take the syringe with you.
After going out to the corridor, approach the doors with chains. The protagonist will tear them up, and you will be able to return to the main part of the house.
Head to the floor below (the chains blocking your passage earlier are gone) and enter the pantry under the stairs.
Inside the room where the bed is, the passage will open in the closet.
After arriving at the corridor where the bird is, you can decide whether to place its body inside the cage or next to the open window. Your decision will affect the ending. Follow the path outlined by the game.
After going to the main hall, head to the cellar (find the door on the right side after going down the stairs). Once you've completed a relatively linear sequence, you'll reach a corridor on fire. Jump into the elevator shaft.
As you wake up from your fall, head quickly down the corridor, as an elevator will be right behind you. Remember that pressing the SHIFT key will allow you to move a bit faster. Knock over the objects on your way.
Shortly after, you will wake up lying in your own bedroom. Leave the room and go to the workshop (upstairs on the left side).
Sequence in the library
The atelier will activate a longer library sequence for you Here, your goal will be to find notes - links in a chain. You need to break this chain, by collecting those notes. Chains can be found inside the library rooms - on the second floor. There are bright lights marking the entrances to the right rooms.
Inside, expect some simple challenges - you will have to navigate carefully between corridors or run away for a while.
After collecting 6 notes, the chained chest will fall in the central part of the lower library floor. Open it and lift the pen inside. Approach the nearby desk.
You will have to decide which piece of paper you should reach for. This choice will affect your ending.
After returning to the main part of the apartment, go to the daughter's room (left wing of the upper floor). Approach the white chest of drawers, and then exit the small room.
The next sequence is quite linear. Follow the path suggested by the game.
Go to the kitchen (ground floor, straight ahead and to the left when looking from the stairs). In the small storeroom you will find a corkscrew. Exit the room and follow the corridors.
In this particular sequence, your goal will be to pick and destroy the echo - three times. The echo selection will affect the ending.
Echo rooms are separated by linear sections of corridors and the occasional escape from the specter.
Remember that you can defend yourself from the specter with a focused flashlight beam.
In a large room with a key on the platform and a ghost pursuing you, keep following the marked path until you come across the right door. You can open them with the key you have.
After waking up in the bedroom again, head to the workshop (ground floor, on the right after going down the stairs). You will be transferred to an abstract space. Full of platforms suspended in the air.
Follow the path and interact with the encountered objects.
After the scene with the collapsing mirror, you will be rewarded with the ending of the story.
