In this section of the guide to Layers of Fear 2, you can find a description of the puzzle with gears, which is solved during the second act of the game. We will tell you how to use the lever of the interacting mechanism, and how to match the gears together.

You can solve the gears puzzle soon after you reach a large room with a mechanism "controlled" by mannequins, and with a large clock (it will be linked to another, future puzzle).

You have to explore the left corridor of a large room that leads to the door and stairs. After using the stairs you will get to the place where you solve the puzzle.

Your task is to match the gears by manipulating the three rotating mechanisms.

The left lever (picture above) can be set in three positions: left, center and right. Depending on the setting, you will manipulate the outer, middle or inner part of the mechanism.

The right levers are used to rotate the gear wheels to match them.

We suggest to start with the external gears (set the left lever to the left position) and do the inside last.

The solution of the puzzle is shown in the picture. You will hear characteristic sounds, communicating that you managed to set it correctly.
