This page of the Kena Bridge of Spirits game guide explains how to quickly and efficiently tackle the final boss, the Corrupt Rot God. You will face him at the end of The Sacred Mountain Shrine mission.
The final boss, the Corrupt Rot God, is the largest boss in the game. This battle consists of several different stages, some of which don't even involve fighting the boss directly. Also, at least in the first stage, you can't use Rot's special attacks or heal yourself.
Stage 1
Once the boss appears in the arena during the first stage, he will immediately charge towards you. Your objective is to shoot at the crystals on different parts of the boss's body with your bow. Destroying the crystals on the boss's body lowers his health bar. Usually, it takes two fully charged arrows to destroy a crystal.
Start with the head first, as it's the easiest to target. Once you destroy one of the crystals, the boss will pause for a while, making it much easier to shoot at the remaining crystals. Use the ability to slow down time, as the Corrupt Rot God will soon be heading your way.
When it comes to the boss's attacks, there are three moves to watch out for. His first move consists of hitting the ground, causing a large tremor that deals area of effect damage. It's a good idea to move away from the boss and to jump as soon as he hits the ground to avoid the ice wave.
If the Corrupt Rot God gets near you, he will try to grab you with one hand to throw you, dealing high damage. If you notice that the boss is about to swing his hand, make sure to dodge. It's best to dodge towards the boss, i.e. forward, as the range of his arms is extensive.
The boss can use the third attack when he's very far away from you. He can then launch an incredibly fast ice projectile, but it can only move in a straight line. When you spot it, dodge to the side.
After destroying a few crystals, you will be transported to another dimension where you will have to fight weaker opponents. At first, you will have to face two standard melee enemies and one flying enemy. Shoot the latter down first, then deal with the others. After defeating them, three smaller Rot Eaters and two flying creatures will appear. Again, destroy the flying enemies first and then the rest. Next, go through the Spirit Gate by Dashing.
Once you reach the other side, more enemies will appear, consisting of two flying creatures, two weaker melee enemies, and a Wood Knight miniboss. Eliminate the flying creatures as soon as possible, because in a moment you will be attacked by the Wood Knight. Once you have disposed of them, Dash to escape the danger. Target the Wood Knight's weak points to eliminate him quickly.
After defeating all enemies, a golden-eyed Rot will appear. To free them, you need to throw a bomb at the barrier and then activate it. This will give you one stack of Courage, allowing you to use Rot's attacks or healing. Next, cleanse the flower and go through the barrier to initiate the second stage of the fight.
Stage 2
The second stage will begin when you reappear in the boss' arena. It's worth noting that the arena became much smaller. You will die if you leave the borders of the arena and remain in the corrupted zone for too long.
The boss also gains a new attack - he will stand still and after a few moments, he will shoot out a laser that moves in a horizontal line. You can Dash to avoid it.
Your next goal is to shoot at the crystals that still remain on the Corrupt Rot God's body. When you destroy all of them, you will be transported to another dimension again.
This time, instead of fighting, you will have to efficiently navigate the difficult terrain. To do this, jump to the right onto the floating rocks in the air. Then shoot the blue flowers, which will allow you to progress further and higher.
When you are at the very top, you need to jump into the air. A flower will bloom in front of you. Target it in mid-air to slow down time. Then, throw a bomb at the shiny rock and aim again while flying towards the flowers (you need to do this while flying, as you won't have the chance to land anywhere).
At the very top, you will once again spot the barrier containing the Rot. Use a bomb, gaining all the Courage you previously had. Once you leave this dimension, the third stage of the fight will begin.
Stage 3
During the third stage, the arena will become even smaller than before and the boss will also gain a very dangerous attack - the Corrupt Rot God will lean on the ground with his hands and start creating an explosion emerging from his chest, or more precisely, the corrupted flower.
To interrupt this attack, remove the golden rods from his back. To do this, you must tackle him from behind or the side and use one of Rot's abilities. This is the only way you will be able to injure him and stop the attack.
If you don't do it fast enough, the boss will create a huge number of laser projectiles in the arena. This attack deals significant amounts of damage. It's also difficult to avoid, so if you think you won't be able to stop it, you should shield yourself.
Additionally, weaker opponents will appear in the arena, making the fight against the Corrupt Rot God even harder. Occasionally, waves of fire will also appear on the ground, so be prepared to jump over them to avoid being damaged.
When the boss's health bar drops to zero, you will need to cleanse his flower, which is located on his chest. This will end the boss fight.
Now all you have to do is meditate at the Meditation Spot. Afterwards, you will beat the game and the end credits will be displayed.
