On this page of the Kena Bridge of Spirits game guide, you will learn how to easily defeat Sprout, the first tutorial boss in the game. You will have to fight him at the end of the Ruins map.

Sprout is the first powerful opponent that will stand in your way. A short cut-scene will play before the fight. Then, the fight will begin. At the start, you will receive a tip that instructs you to use your shield against Sprout's attack.

Your best bet is to parry his attacks, but if you have trouble doing so, simply block or dodge his attacks and then retaliate with a series of quick strikes. When you notice that he is about to attack again, focus on defending yourself.

After a certain number of attacks, you should recharge Courage, allowing you to use Rot. Aim at Sprout, then use Rot to make Sprout receive damage every second and be stunned for a short time. This will give you a big advantage, as you will have the opportunity to use charged, powerful attacks to deal lots of damage to him.

After defeating Sprout, simply use Rot to clear the forest. To do so, use Pulse and proceed to the next stage of the game.
