Installations and assembly, types of failures in House Flipper Game House Flipper Guide and Walkthrough

In many renovated houses in House Flipper you will stumble upon defective elements, empty spaces left after removed devices or plugs with room for fittings. This chapter describes the objects that need to be installed / repaired and which you can see on the mini-map as potential failures.

Last update: 28 May 2018

In this chapter we will be focusing on objects intended for installation in houses in House Flipper game. Some of the devices, such as a TV, a water heater or a gas stove, do not require installations - you just place them and they are treated as fully functional devices. The rest must be installed at their designated locations (you will not be able to put the shower if the pipe layout was prepared for bathtub only) and are always visible on the mini-map, similarly to defective devices already installed in the building.

What can be placed at designated locations?

If you see red dots on the mini-map, it means that you need to / can install specific devices at those locations. With time, you will remember and instinctively install all of the specific and required devices at their designated locations, but at the beginning of the game you should familiarize yourself with the following list. Devices installed in the bathroom (all of the pipes to which the devices will be attached must have plugs remove manually):

  1. Bath,
  2. Shower,
  3. Toilet,
  4. Sink,
  5. Washing machine - a place for a washing machine can sometimes be found in storage rooms or in the basement.

Lighting - lamps can be placed anywhere in the room. You do not need to attach them to installations for them to function, but you should purchase a light switch - a single one supports all the lighting devices in a room. If the lamps are not working, check the bulbs and fuses.

Electrical and hydraulic cables need to be connected to air conditioning for the device to work. - Installations and assembly, types of failures in House Flipper Game - Basics of the House Flipper game - House Flipper Game Guide
Electrical and hydraulic cables need to be connected to air conditioning for the device to work.

Air conditioning - always suspended from the ceiling, usually in a living room or a bedroom.

Heater - installed virtually in every room on white wall brackets. If there is no heater in the room - purchase and install it. It does not matter whether you decide to purchase a smaller or a larger one - it is just a visual matter.

What devices are more likely to fail?

Damaged wall socket is the most common type of a failure. - Installations and assembly, types of failures in House Flipper Game - Basics of the House Flipper game - House Flipper Game Guide
Damaged wall socket is the most common type of a failure.

The most common failures are damaged electrical sockets. They are always placed approximately 30 cm above the ground. The ones that are clearly darker and rusted are subject to replacement. All you need to do is to unscrew 3 screws, connect new cables to the new wall socket and mount them into the place. The advantage of the process is the fact that you do not have to pay for the repair and it still increases the value of the flat (cleanliness / attention to detail). Note that the wall sockets are often hidden behind the furniture.

Leaking radiators - a fairly common problem, but fortunately easy to repair. The process looks exactly the same as an installment of a new radiator. Always remember to remove the water stain with a mop, as it is treated as dirt in the flat.

Damaged bulbs can be easily located - you just need to check whether turning on the light switch lights up the room. - Installations and assembly, types of failures in House Flipper Game - Basics of the House Flipper game - House Flipper Game Guide

Light bulbs. In real life, light bulbs will eventually stop working - the same applies to House Flipper. If you enter a room and the light bulbs do not illuminate it (one or more - on a chandelier) it means that either the bulb is burnt or the fuses are damaged (check the next paragraph). Changing the light bulb is easy - just hover over the item, press E, take out the old one and install a fresh bulb.

If the fuse was damaged, you need to find a fuse box. In most cases it can be found in the basement of the house. Open the box, find the damaged fuse and replace it. Afterwards, flip on the switch and the power should reappear in the room.
