On this page of our Hogwarts Legacy you can find a walkthrough for The Centaur and the Stone quest. This is another quest in Poppy Sweetling's questline and involves exploring a cave in search of the titular Moonstone. There are some puzzles here featuring moths - we provide solutions for them.

Relationship side quest unlocked

This quest, another in the Poppy Sweeting relationship questline, becomes available after completing Poached Egg side quest. After talking to Poppy and the Centaur in The Forbidden Forest, you should receive another message soon. Start by traveling to the designated location near Irondale.

Find the moonstone

Enter the cave and reach the first door which has to be opened with Depulso or Descendo. Continue forward. In the next room, there is a level 30 magical creature - defeat it.

Use Depulso on the next door and continue.

You'll reach a room with stone door with symbols - here you need to open the door on the left side. Look at the symbols on the door. Use Accio to move the lever above the right symbol.

Pick up a moth with Lumos and deliver it to the first gate mechanism.

Open the door on the right side of the room and pick up another moth. Bring it to the second mechanism.

Now hit both mechanisms with Depulso a few times and wait for the gate to open.

Pick up a moth from the previous mechanism again and enter the new room. Bring the moth to the mechanism on the left and hit a few times with Depulso. Platforms should appear before you.

Take the same moth again and bring it to the mechanism next to the waterfall.

Place yourself at the stairs and hit the waterfall mechanism with Depulso. A platform with a moth should raise next to you. Quickly lure it to your wand with Lumos.

Bring the moth to the door near the stairs and return for the waterfall moth. Bring the second moth to the door and return to the previous room next to the gate for one more. Once three moths are at the door, you'll be able to enter the next room.

Defeat 2 level 30 enemies here and jump into the water. Swim up to the whirlpool. Once you're in the next part of the cave, get to the shore, circle the rock and remove the vines with Confringo.

Approach the tree and take the Moonstone.

Place the moonstone inside the henge

After leaving the cave, place the Moonstone in the henge. After talking to Poppy, you can remove the stone.
