This Heavy Rain guide page provides a description of Jayden Blues scene. In this phase, Jayden will analyze further traces and fight against drug addiction once again.
Play the piano. You can receive the Ludwig Von trophy for the correct execution of the entire QTE sequence, but it is only awarded if you don't make even one mistake. If you make a mistake, consider starting the stage again.
Some new leads appeared: Camera recording from the park, information about the car and ID. Analyze them. ID will push your investigation further. Your addiction will remind you about itself again. Try to resist it again. You have to go to the bathroom and use a shower. This will allow you to unlock the second trophy in this section: Detox. It is only granted if you avoid taking drugs. Fortunately, even if Jayden takes drugs, it will not affect the course of the next steps.
Rescuing Ethan
If Ethan was caught in [Fugitive], new scene will appear now, or - more accurately - continuation of the police station scene. You have to leave your office and go to the Interrogation Room. Tell the guard there he should take a break and help Ethan stand up. You have to find a cloak for Ethan and keys for his handcuffs. The cloak is on the chair in the corridor leading to the interrogation room.
Go to the room adjacent to the interrogation room and turn off the camera. This action will be awarded with Wise Guy trophy. Take the cloak from the chair too. Now head for the room where Ethan is held and order the guard to leave again. You can also make him leave by using the microphone on the desk in the camera room. He will tell you that the handcuffs keys are on his desk - almost in front of Blake's desk. Take them, go back to Ethan, uncuff him and give him the cloak.
If Ethan escaped from the police station, he will be able to appear in the next stages of the game. You will not be able to release Ethan if the police catches him twice, i.e. in the Fugitive and On the Loose stages, or if Norman died before the On the Loose stage. In such circumstances Ethan remains in custody until the end of the game and will not appear as a playable character in later chapters.
Under Arrest
On this page of the Heavy Rain Game Guide we provided a walkthrough for the Under Arrest scene. This chapter tells about police arresting Ethan and how it could affect his fate.
This scene will launch only if Ethan was caught by the police at the Fugitive stage or at the On the Loose stage. In the latter case, an additional requirement is that Norman Jayden is still alive because he has to take part in the scene. Ethan will be questioned. Playing as Norman, ask him a series of questions in any order, then try to stop Blake from hitting Ethan. Norman doesn't believe Ethan is the killer and decides to liberate him.
You must leave your office and go to the interrogation room. There, tell the guard to take a break and then help Ethan get up. You need to find the cape - it's on a chair, by the corridor leading up to the interrogation room, where he can hide underneath, and the key to the handcuffs.
Go to the room adjacent to the interrogation room and turn off the camera - this will allow you to win the Wise Guy trophy. Also, take the cape from the chair. Now go back to the room Ethan is in and brief the guard again or do it using the microphone on the desk in the camera room. He will also tell you that the keys to the handcuffs are on his desk. This desk is right across from Blake's desk. Go back to Ethan with the keys, release him and give him the cape.
If Ethan escaped from the police station, he may be able to appear in the next stages of his journey. You will not be able to release Ethan if the police catches him twice, i.e. in the Fugitive and On the Loose stages or if Norman died before the On the Loose stage. In that case, Ethan remains in custody until the end of the game and will not appear as a playable character in later chapters.
These are the consequences of Ethan remaining in custody:
- Potential Epilogues: [New Life], [A New Start], [Tears in the Rain], [Origami Blues], [Ethan's Grave] get locked;
- Epilogues available for Ethan: [Innocent] or [Helpless];
The Ethan thread will also break from this moment on - there will be no more chapters called: [The Shark], [On the Loose], [The Rat].
