Over the course of the gameplay in Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery, you spend seven years in the titular school of magic. You will develop your knowledge by attending various classes and performing different missions for diverse characters. In this year, you will attend Spells lessons, Care of Magical Creature lessons, Flying, Transmutation, and herbalism, as well as, Elixirs.

Flying lessons

Formation Flying- during these lessons, you learn how to move synchronically on your broom. Unlocking this ability grants you an additional energy point.

Sloth Grip Roll - thanks to this skill, you can make a full turn while on your broom.

Broom Surging - now you can fly while standing. You learn this ability in the fourth term of school.

Extreme Dive and Pull Up - you will learn how to dive and quickly get back up again while on your broom. This ability is especially useful when you are being attacked and are trying to get away as fast as possible from the threat.

Transmutation

Vera Verto - for learning how to turn a rat into a chalice, you receive 5 gems.

Beetle into Button - it's a good spell for people afraid of insects. In chapter three, you learn how to change insects into buttons.

Colovaria - a fast change of hair color becomes available in chapter 5.

Herbalism

Wiggentree - the first herbalism lessons take place in the second chapter of year four, you receive 5 gems for this.

Flitterbloom - these plans will come in handy for learning Elixirs. You get 5 gems for learning this.

Spells

Protego - this ability teaches you how to deflect enemy spells. It cannot be used during duels. After learning this spell, you receive 5 gems.

Bombarda - this spell can be used during duels. It deals 20 damage.

Confringo - smashes to bits. It can be used in combat to deal 17 damage.

Ferula - after learning this spell, you get 5 gems. You won't be able to use this spell in combat, however, it often comes in handy during missions.

Cistem Aperito - this spell allows you to open all locks. You learn it during side missions.

Diffindo - can be used during duels to deal 15 damage.

Colloportus - opens all locks.

Elixirs

Calming Draught - this elixir is used to calm down people.

Shrinking Solution - using this mixture, you can shrink yourself or your allies; cannot be used during duels.

Pepperup Potion - this potion can cure more than one cold, however, not without side effects, nonetheless, what's more, important than health?

Beautification Potion- for learning how to brew this potion you receive 5 points. You learn how to make it during side missions.

Ageing Potion - this is a potion which speeds up the aging process.

Care of Magical Creatures

Fire Crab - in the first chapter, you will have to attend new classes, they are connected with caring for magical creatures. There, you will have to spend a few hours to learn how to take care of a Fire Crab.

Bowtruckle - the next magical creature, you have to look after will be a Bowtruckle, you will learn about it in chapter 5.

Niffler - the cute Niffler is the topic of chapter 6 lessons.

Kneazle - you will learn how to take care of this creature in the last chapter of the year.
