Food poisoning is one of the diseases your character can get. On this page of the Green Hell guide, you will find information on how to get rid of this ailment.
The disease is caused by the consumption of spoiled food and raw meat. It results in vomiting, which removes minerals from the body. The number at the symbol of intoxication informs how many times you'll empty your stomach. If you let that rate drop to zero, the affliction will go away spontaneously. However, this can lead to shortages of Macroelements.
Eating anything during food poisoning will only exacerbate it and prolong its duration, so make up for any nutrient deficiencies once you have healed.
Food poisoning can be treated with a few things. The first way is to use painkillers you can find in abandoned settlements that don't belong to the natives. The other two ways are natural and you can get them more easily. These include water lilies (you can find them in water basins) and charcoal (you can produce it in an oven or harvest it from burned fires). You have to bear in mind that the last of these methods has a negative effect on the mental health of the character.
