View and camera in Gran Turismo Sport Gran Turismo Sport Guide, Tips

Last update: 11 July 2018

The views from the cameras while driving in Gran Turismo are quite limited, especially when you comparing it to competing titles, and you can only choose from a few standard ones. So you are always forced to make some compromise, because each of them has its advantages and disadvantages.

The view from the bumper does not block the HUD, but you cannot see what is on the sides and how the bend on a flat track runs. - View and camera in Gran Turismo Sport - Technical aspects - Gran Turismo Sport Game Guide
The view from the bumper does not block the HUD, but you cannot see what is on the sides and how the bend on a flat track runs.

In general, apart from the view from the bumper, it will be more or less difficult for us to look at the important information on the HUD at the bottom of the screen

  1. In most cases, a good solution is the view from the roof, from which you can see the bonnet. It allows you to see the most of the track ahead of us and the cars that have aligned with ours and are right next to our car.
  2. The view from the bumper has the lowest camera, so there is not much visibility to the track ahead of us. But in exchange you will find here a rear-view mirror.

In the cockpit, the HUD is not so easy to keep an eye on.
  1. The view from the cockpit offers a slightly lower sense of speed, so driving from it can be a bit more precise. In this view the elements of the cabin often limit even the view to the front, there is not always a rearview mirror or camera available and the quick turnaround shows exactly what can be seen from the cabin of a real car, which is most of the time the small window covered with a safety cage.
  2. The view from behind the car allows the best assessment of the situation, when your car is in the crowd, but it is the least authentic and the most associated with a simple arcade game.

Important Note - Camera settings

Driving along the track (and only then), you can go to options -> advanced options, and adjust the view from the cockpit and behind the car, zooming in and adjusting the height of the camera.
