Hearing and consistency in Gran Turismo Sport Gran Turismo Sport Guide, Tips

Last update: 11 July 2018

This chapter is devoted to two important issues - listening to the car and consistency.

Listen to your car

In the racing simulator, the sound is as important as the picture. If you hear that your tires are squeaking in bends, it means you're slowing down, wearing out the tires, and generally lose time. Try to drive so that the tires squeak on the curves as little as possible, making adjustments with the steering wheel and gas pedal. You only mention the obvious necessity of shifting down a gear before the engine starts choking for the sake of order.

Although this fast curve allows to stick to the right edge after leaving the bend, it is advisable to get to the opposite, left edge, where you will find a grater and a bollard, and head to the right edge just before the next chicane. As a result, the tires will suffer less and the route will be more natural. You can go flat out the entire time, instead of losing speed sticking to the right edge. - Hearing and consistency in Gran Turismo Sport - Races - Practical advice - Gran Turismo Sport Game Guide

Consistency, bro!

You don't mean the consistency of the rubber in your tires, but consistently in getting similar lap times one by one - generally, this is one of the most important principles during the race. You have a much better chance of winning long competitions (with short, daily ones the rule doesn't apply) when all of our laps have a similar time, rather than having one very fast and a few slower ones with errors.

A good consistency will allow you to focus only on fighting enemies, rather than the track, the car and yourself. You're talking about overcoming the route instinctively, when you automatically brake and accelerate at the right moments without making mistakes, and the image of the track is basically engraved in your mind. Unfortunately, the way to the best consistency is a long, arduous process, with the same car on the same track over and over again, until achieving the right results.
