God of War: The Stranger - Second Encounter - boss, how to beat? God of War Guide and Walkthrough

On this page of the God of War game guide you will find the description of the second duel with the Stranger, that is, the Baldur boss, which happens on the way to the mountain's peak after acquiring the Black Rune. We explain how the second confrontation looks like and how to get rid of the Baldur boss again.

As a reminder, Baldur was the Stranger that Kratos faced in the prologue of the campaign. Baldur did not ultimately die in that battle and as a result appears later in the game.

The second confrontation with Baldur will take place on the way to the top of the mountain after obtaining the Black Rune as part of the main storyline. The boss will appear after opening the portal to Jotunheim.

Baldur will kidnap Atreus. In response, Kratos will jump on the dragon and the battle with the god will begin.

You have to press R1 and L1 to attack and counter Baldur's attacks.

After a while, the situation will change and you will have to dodge Baldur's blows. You can avoid boss attacks or try to parry them. In your free time, you should try to counterattack - it is not required, but it allows you to complete this boss fight faster.

The duel with Baldur will end with a cut-scene - the characters will move to Helheim.
