The Plains is one of the hidden northern regions of Vanaheim in God of War Ragnarok. On this page we list and supply locations of all collectibles and side activities appearing in The Plains region of Vanaheim - among them, Nornir Chests, Legendary Chests, Lore items, Buried Treasure, Odin's Ravens, Yggdrasil Rifts, Draugr holes, Dragon Hunts, Stags for All Seasons and Favours. Collecting and completing all of these secrets will allow you to attain 100% completion of the region.

The Plains is one of the hidden regions of The Crater, found in the northern Vanaheim. We've described how to unlock The Plains and neighboring Sinkholes and Jungle regions in more detail on Reaching the Crater in Vanaheim page of the guide.
Some secrets in The Plains are separated by chasms, which can only be accessed after opening the dam - this is described in detail on Chasms in the Crater in Vanaheim page of the guide. Note - Some of the described finds and locations can only be accessed during a certain time of the day - more on this in Can you change the time of the day? page in the FAQ section.
Dragon Hunt #1 - For Vanaheim!
This activity starts automatically as you enter The Crater - you'll see a dragon in the distance and reaching its lair is one of the objectives.

Dragon Hunt #2 - In the Dead of Night
This side quest starts after reaching the western part of the region and finding traces of the Dreki monster. To be able to visit the western part of The Plains, you need to open the dam in The Jungle and use the boat to reach a dock there. As the quest starts, you receive information regarding an optional miniboss encounter.

Epic Hunt #1 - In Plain Sight
To start this activity, examine any animal carcass in the western part of the region (exemplary one is shown in the screenshot) You'll receive information about a Soul Eater that you can kill.

Epic Hunt #2 - Noctural Predator
You can begin this favour during nighttime (use the Celestial Altar to change the time of the day). Start exploring the central part of the region (the area where you've started exploring The Crater) You'll start to encounter animals trapped by ghosts (violet colour). Catch any of them to start the favour.

Favour - Casualty of War: The Brooch
To activate this favour, you need to find a phantom named Holger - he can be found northwest of the first Mystic Gateway in The Plains.

Favour - Casualty of War: The Scroll
To begin this side quest, you need to find a phantom named Runa - she can be found in a large cave in the northwestern corner of the region.

Favour - Casualty of War: The Stein
You can unlock this favour by traveling to The Jungle and finding a phantom named Magnus - he can be found on the other side of the dam in the western part of the region. The object that Magnus searches for is found in The Plains, which is why we added it to The Plains secret list.

Odin's Ravens #1
This raven is found on the rocks east from the dwarven store - initially, it is on the other side of the chasm, and then (after opening the dam) you may find it on the other side of the river.
Lore #1 - Seidr
Category: Lore Markers.
This rune board is found in the ruins in the vicinity of the dwarven store, Celestial Altar and Mystic Gateway. Start by dealing with enemies encountered in this area.
Yggdrasil Rift #1
Rift #1 is located northwest of the dwarven store and Mystic Gateway - you can access it from the east (along the way you'll unlock a shortcut in the nearby ruins). Initially, its is near the chasm, and later (after opening the dam), you may find it next to the river.
Nornir Chest #1
Reward: Horn of Blood Mead.
Nornir Chest #1 is found in the north-eastern part of the The Plains central area. To open the chest, you need to hit 3 bells at the same time and one of them is surrounded by vines. Approach the chest from the dwarven store (from the east), find the trapped bell, create a seal, and hit it with Blades of Chaos. All 3 bells are ready - simply throw a weapon to make them ring.
A Stag for All Seasons #1
There are 4 stags to find around The Crater and there is a favour involving them. To complete this mission, you first need to get feed - only then you can interact with the stags. This is described in detail on the A Stag of All Seasons page of our walkthrough.
Stag #1 is near the Wishing Well i.e. the location where you can deliver found crystals and receive rewards for them.
A Stag for All Seasons #2
The second Stag from The Plains is found near the Overgrown Tower Mystic Gateway. This is the northwestern part of The Plains and you can only get there after the dam is opened.
Lore #2 - The Lost Pages
Category: This is 1 of 4 Labor related finds with the same name.
The secret is located north of the Wishing Well. First, you must open the gate that allows reaching the Wishing Well from the first Mystic Gateway found in The Plains. You'll encounter the secret (it will be on the ground - screenshot) along the way.
Legendary Chest
Reward: Honor the Fallen - a heavy runic attack for the Draupnir Spear.
The only Legendary Chest in this region is in a locked area in the north-western part of the region, not far from the Mystic Gateway and the dwarven store. Find 2 weak points to which you can apply the Spear. However, don't detonate the spears yet.
First you must reach the rock obstacle from the other side and find the final weak point. Apply the spear to the final weak point and detonate all 3 spears at the same time.
The path is now clear. Aside from the legendary chest, there is some loot here.
Odin's Raven #2
This raven is on the rocks in the north-western part of the region. Try to find a vantage point overlooking the perched raven to locate him easily and adjust the throw trajectory.
Yggdrasil Rift #2
This one requires you to travel to the island in the southwestern part of the region, and this is only possible after the dam is opened - once that is done, you can take a boat and travel to the island dock.
Lore #3 - A Scar is Born
Category: Treasure Map
The Treasure Map is on the same island as the Yggdrasil Rift described above.
In order to find it, stay on the island and travel to southeastern part of it (more on this in Buried Treasure - A Scar is Born subsection)
Odin's Raven #3
Raven #3 is on a lower level in the north-western part of the region. You need to approach a small chasm and make a weapon throw (the raven is very close).
Yggdrasil Rift #3
Yggdrasil Rift #3 is in the northwestern part of the region, right next to the aforementioned raven.
Odin's Raven #4
This raven is on a remote rock in the north-western part of the region. Start from the dock south from the Mystic Gateway and turn north-east. You can make a Spear throw from here.
Draugr Hole
The hole is in the northern part of the region. To access it, you first need to open the dam, as you need to take the boat to the dock nearby the hole. Defeat all monsters to complete the activity.
Lore #4 - Apology
Category: Lore Markers.
This rune board is in a locked north-western part of the region. At first, Kratos cannot approach the gate, as it is in range of poisonous fumes. Instead, you need to approach this location from the east. In the area marked in screenshot 2, you can hurl the Axe at the plant. After a successful throw, do not summon the axe back yet, but approach the gate from the south.
Raise the gate and defeat the incoming monsters. The road to the collectible is clear now.
Nornir Chest #2
Prize: Idunn Apple
Nornir Chest #2 is located in the north-western part of the region - as a reminder (we described the action in the aforementioned collectible), you need to hit the poisonous plant with the Axe and raise the gate.
The puzzle accompanying the chest is simple - throw the Spear at totems in the area. All 3 are not far away from the chest. One more difficult totem is inside the tree behind the chest.
Lore #5 - Stupidity
Category: Lore Markers.
Getting to this secret is a little problematic - it is on a higher shelf in the western part of The Plains and finding a climbing spot is difficult.
Make sure you've opened the dam and travel to The Plains boat dock. Leave the boat behind and start climbing in the place shown in screenshot 1. After climbing two shelves, you reach the top and now you can descend the rope found east (screenshot 2)
You'll reach upper shelves - deal with opponents found there. Once the area is clear, you can search for the rune board.
Odin's Raven #5
This raven is on the rocks in the north-western part of the region - here you'll find large caves in which Kratos can grab upper hitches. Look for the bird on a lower rock shelf.
Buried Treasure - A Scar is Born
This Buried Treasure is located south from the dwarven store in the eastern part of the region - you'll see a lit area near a large stone arch.
You need to have A Scar is Born treasure map in order to dig the treasure. it is found in the same region (island to the west, the one with the Yggdrasil Rift). To learn more, visit Lore #3 - A Scar is Bornsubsection.
