This page of the guide tells you how to lure the dragon in the side quest Path of Destruction in God of War Ragnarok. From the walkthrough you will also learn how to reach the lair in the Jungle of Vanaheim and how to defeat the mini-boss - the Slag Horn.

Path of Destruction is a favour in the Jungle region in Vanaheim in God of War Ragnarok. The walkthrough tells you how to reach the northwest part of the Jungle, how to solve the drake lure puzzle (trapping a smaller monster in the elevator) and how to deal with the Slag Horn mini-boss.

Reaching the northwest part of the Jungle and unlocking the quest

This favour can be unlocked in the northwestern part of the Jungle region in Vanaheim. The first requirement is to flood the Crater - you must finish the Return of the River favour (we have described it on a separate page of the walkthrough). It will allow you to sail a boat through the Jungle.

You must set out during the day - if it is currently night, visit a Celestial Altar in the Jungle to change the time of day.

Reach the Jungle dock by boat - it is hidden in the northeastern part of the region. Get out of the boat and squeeze between the rocks. If this is your first visit to this location, you will have to defeat a pair of ogres - it's best to attack the beasts one at a time.

If you're traveling during the day, you can grab the interactive hook point shown in the picture. This will take you to the upper areas in the northwestern corner of the Jungle.

Travel along the main path (it's worth unlocking a shortcut on the way - lower the chain) and squeeze between the rocks. You will reach the empty lair of the big monster and unlock a favour - you have to lure and defeat the beast.

Follow the footprints

Investigate the place where you got the side quest - you will find an elevator shaft. Jump into it.

Lure the drake

Luring the drake is quite complicated - you must deliver the bait (a smaller monster) to the drake's lair. Follow the steps from our walkthrough.

After landing at the bottom of the elevator shaft, throw your axe at the rotating mechanism from the picture. The cage will rise for a brief moment - step out of it and summon Leviathan.

Ask the companion to create a seal on the rotating mechanism. Then throw the axe at it again.

Quickly summon the axe and throw it at the circular mechanism shown in the picture. The idea is to keep the cage up.

Head towards the lower exit - you need to lift the grate.

After reaching the Jungle, run up to one of the monsters, but don't kill it. The creature has to start following Kratos.

Return to the raised cage and wait for the monster. Quickly run out of the cage and summon the axe. The creature should get trapped inside the cage (example in the picture).

The last step is to use the chain shown in the picture - the creature you have imprisoned will be transported by elevator to the top. The beast will serve as bait - a mini-boss will appear in the lair and your journal will be updated.

Slay the Slag Horn

You must now return to the monster's lair, which is where you unlocked the favour. You can go through the Jungle again or use the shortcut you may have unlocked earlier. The lair belongs to a mini-boss - Slag Horn.

Watch out for its unique attacks:

1. tail strike (yellow attack) - perform a perfect parry or dodge, or move away from the boss in advance;
2. striking the ground with the front limbs (red attack) - move away from the landing site, as the boss will create a small shock wave;
3. maw attacks (red attack) - dodge to the side at the last moment.

Defeating the boss will complete the quest.
