God of War Ragnarok is a long game, so to avoid starting it a second time you may want to know whether you can continue playing the game after finishing the main storyline. Our guide also explains whether GoW Ragnarok has endgame content and a point of no return before starting the game's finale.
This page has no spoilers about the finale of God of War Ragnarok. You can read it without spoiling yourself the main storyline - we have provided the information in a more general form.
Can you continue the game after finishing the main story?
In God of War Ragnarok, you don't have to rush to discover everything before finishing the main storyline. You don't have to do all side quests (favors), defeating all optional bosses, completing all labours or reaching all secrets and collectibles.
You can continue playing and exploring the world even after you pass the main storyline. This way you will be able to complete all missed activities, get the best loot and find missing secrets.
The main story has the so-called point of no return. The game informs about it during one of the conversations. You can use this as a warning to better prepare for the finale, where you will have to fight more difficult battles.
Endgame phase - is it available?
After beating the main storyline of God of War Ragnarok, you can unlock new unique content related to the endgame phase. This includes fights with extremely powerful bosses.
You can also, of course, return to those activities you unlocked earlier, i.e. before starting the finale. Completing them with well-developed characters should be easier.
