Unlocking the quest
You can start this mission after taking over the Utagawa Shopping District Shrine - you do that in chapter 3, after completing the mission objective where you had to find and destroy blocking stones in time. A quest marker should automatically appear on the map.
The quest giver is the Woman Waiting for Boyfriend.
Find the building
You need to explore the area marked with a green circle - it is near the quest's starting point. It will be a tall abandoned building. Examine its southern wall (at its base, you don't need to reach the upper floors). This will allow you to find the Nurikabe yokai from the picture above. Absorb the friendly creature (you will get magatama) and use the newly unlocked rift to get inside the building.
Search the building
When searching the building, use the spectral vision so you won't miss anything (you can come across loot and collectibles not related to the mission).
Soon after you start exploring the building, you will encounter the first specter. You have to complete a mini-game of breaking a hand seal - this will cleanse the spectre.
On your way to the second specter, you will come across several Visitors. You can defeat them with stealth attacks or in regular combat. Break another hand seal to cleanse the specter.
Use the staircase. On the new floor, visit the bathroom with the Glass Door Key. Go back a bit to the glass wall (the picture above) and use the key to unlock the room with the third spectre. Here, too, you have to play a mini-game to break the hand seal.
The narrow passage leads to the next part of the building - you have to crouch to get to the other side. Attack the Visitor by surprise and deal with the rest in the next room. The fourth specter is nearby - you have to cleanse it.
Locate the source of the curse
You can use the passage that was previously blocked with trash and go up the stairs to the upper floor. You will learn about the source of the curse from the encountered spirit.
Go up the stairs to the next floor and use the hole in the wall shown in the picture.
Defeat all enemies
The Visitors will start appearing in the room - you must fight them. Due to the relatively small space, we recommend using charged fire and water wavering attacks.
Purge the source of the curse
After winning the battle, use the passage leading to another staircase. You will reach the final specter, the source of the curse. Complete the mini-game to remove the hand seal to cleanse the spectre.
Leave the building
Right next to the place where you cleansed the last spectrum, you will find a passage to the roof - use it to leave the building. Talk to the spirits couple to end the mission.
