This page of the Ghost of Tsushima game guide contains the walkthrough of the battle against Owan on Iki Island. This is one of the opponents you will need to defeat during The Hidden Cove Tournament. Our guide describes the unique attacks used by Owan and how to effectively damage and defeat this boss.

It's especially recommended to acquire, upgrade and equip the Sarugami armor, which will make it easier for you to parry and dodge perfectly.
Owan is one of the four participants in The Hidden Bay Tournament. You need to find the monk near the battle arena and talk to him to challenge him to a fight.
As in all other battles, you can win by hitting Owan 5 times with a wooden weapon before he does the same.
Owan is, in our opinion, the easiest among the opponents you will have to face in the battle arena. He uses regular attacks and the first one is a kick.
You can use perfect dodges to easily and effectively damage Owan. Pressing the dodge button just before the kick reaches you will allow you to perform a counterattack and deal 1 point of damage to the boss. This will also prevent Owan from chaining his attacks. You can repeat this method until the very end of the battle to defeat Owan in a very short amount of time.
If perfect dodging is a bit too difficult for you, you can opt for "regular" dodging, but keep in mind that you might need to dodge or parry attacks chained by the opponent.
