In this chapter of the Gears Tactics guide, you will learn more about the Vanguard class.
In theory, this is a soldier sent to the front line. At first, this character is very powerful, but after leveling other classes, they will become more efficient. Vanguard possesses numerous abilities that make them a formidable opponent. This class fights mainly with its bayonet. The melee attack always knocks opponents down (but is useless against bosses). Vanguard's basic skill allows you to regenerate health - you can send this unit to the front line. It has four development paths:
- Warden - abilities in this path focus mainly on damage reduction and automatic recovery if a character is knocked down in combat.
- Shock Trooper - skills that focus on melee combat.
- Assault - additional status effects that increase the damage but are dependent on health
- Paladin - team support, group health regeneration, and the ability to automatically pick up fallen allies.
Get the "Intimidate" skill as quickly as possible. It allows you to interrupt enemy actions e.g. the "Overwatch" mode and flush out enemies from behind covers. In this way, you can easily expose multiple enemy units and easily eliminate each of them.
