How to quickly develop your city in Forge of Empires? Forge of Empires Guide & Walkthrough

Last update: 05 March 2018

After just a few minutes with the game, each player will reach the first era of development in the game - Bronze Age. Development in this era is fast (especially when you look at further eras) - each technology can be easily unlocked and new buildings and units appear one after another. However, it's worth to know what to do to speed up this process even further - this method can then be adapted to the rest of the game.

In this chapter you will find two methods of development - for players with a lot of free time and for those that log into the game occasionally.

For players with a lot of free time

Stilt Houses are the best for players who log into the game frequently. - How to quickly develop your city in Forge of Empires? - Tips & Hints - Forge of Empires Game Guide
Stilt Houses are the best for players who log into the game frequently.

This method works only when the player can log into the game frequently (several times a day) to collect resources and plan further development.

First you need to focus on building as many Huts and Stilt Houses as possible - both of those buildings allow you to collect coins frequently (5 and 15 minutes) and increase the population.

Then you need to construct 3-4 Potteries to start producing supplies - it's best to order 5- or 15-minute productions to maximize the gains.

After constructing the houses and starting the supply production, you should construct 2x Spearfighter Barracks and train 8 units. This will allow you to gain control of several starting provinces and will give you access to goods and terrain expansions.

Now you need to focus on research to unlock Smithery and the Blacksmith building.

Replace all of the Potteries with Blacksmiths (and, if you need, construct additional Blacksmiths as well) - this will increase the supply production and decrease population consumption.

You need to keep up the satisfaction of your people at 120%. In order to do so, use the buildings from the "Decorations" tab that require 1x1 space - Tree, Menhir, Statue.

Once you have your Spearmen, try to conquer the first areas. Those units should be sufficient to take control over Dunarsund, Tyr, Fel Dranghyr, Hymir, Badakus I Paruuch. If your Spearmen are killed in action, you can easily replace them.

Blacksmiths are the most efficient, but you need to log into the game regularly. - How to quickly develop your city in Forge of Empires? - Tips & Hints - Forge of Empires Game Guide
Blacksmiths are the most efficient, but you need to log into the game regularly.

Now you need to unlock the technologies associated with goods that you can get when conquering provinces. Those are Woodwork (Wood), Stonework (Stone) or Growing (Wine or Dye). Construct only those buildings for which you have obtained goods.

Now unlock Teaching, Craftwork, Brewing and Manuring. Those technologies will give you access to the Tavern that give a huge boost to the satisfaction, as well as two terrain expansions. Use the extensions to get a new piece of land, construct the Tavern and eliminate any unnecessary 1x1 Decoration buildings.

You should also unlock the Paths technology fairly quickly. This unlocks a new type of road, Path. This road increases (for each tile) the satisfaction of your people by 5 points - this allows you to get a huge amount of satisfaction and free up some precious space for other buildings.

Further development looks almost the same - construct more houses (those that generate coins every 15 minutes) and more Blacksmiths (use 5- and 15-minute productions) while keeping the satisfaction of your people at 120%.

Research further technologies until you reach Iron Age. Here the principle is the same - construct houses and production buildings, collect coins and supplies every 15 minutes and unlock buildings producing goods that you have access to through conquering provinces.

Chalets are the best choice for those logging into the game occasionally. - How to quickly develop your city in Forge of Empires? - Tips & Hints - Forge of Empires Game Guide
Chalets are the best choice for those logging into the game occasionally.

A similar method to the one presented above, but it does not require so much time. Unfortunately, it won't allow you to develop so quickly.

The first hours of the game should look exactly like in the previous method - construct as many Huts and Stilt Houses and 3-4 Potteries.

Unlock the Chalets technology as quickly as possible and replace houses with the Chalets. They don't require logging into the game so often (once every 4 hours), they give more people and decent amount of coins.

Now focus on the research to unlock Smithery and replace all of the Potteries with Blacksmiths. Start 4- or 8-hour production cycles here (especially for the night).

Try to keep the satisfaction at 120%. In order to do so, use the buildings from the "Decorations" tab, such as Tree, Menhir and Statue.

The place youve saved with Chalets can be used to construct the fruit farm. - How to quickly develop your city in Forge of Empires? - Tips & Hints - Forge of Empires Game Guide
The place you've saved with Chalets can be used to construct the fruit farm.

Place 2x Spearfighter Barracks and train 8 units there. Use them to conquer Dunarsund, Tyr, Fel Dranghyr, Hymir, Badakus and Paruuch.

Depending on the acquired goods, unlock the appropriate technologies - Woodwork (Wood), Stonework (Stone) or Growing (Wine or Dye).

Unlock Paths and use the new type of road to gain additional satisfaction points.

Further development looks almost the same - construct more houses (those that generate coins every 4 hours) and more Blacksmiths (use 4- and 8-hour productions) while keeping the satisfaction of your people at 120%.

Research new technologies until you reach Iron Age. Replace buildings - Chalets should be replaced with Cottages, Blacksmiths with Goat Farms or Butchers. Unlock buildings producing goods that you have access to through conquering provinces.
