In the Survival Guide you can check all of the available foods.

The Food is one of the most important aspects of the game, because, without feeding your character for extended periods of time, you will certainly die. There's a plethora of different sources of food in the game, some of which are easier to find, while being less effective at satisfying your hunger, while some being quite the opposite.

Available food sources in the game are as follows:

  • Berries - there are basically two types of berries in the game, edible and toxic. The edible ones are of a light-blue color and they are formed in clusters (6 pieces). The toxic ones are dark-blue, and they grow in pairs, or they are white/gray and grow in similar clusters to the edible ones (the only difference being 5 pieces instead of 6). Edible berries restore a small amount of your health and hunger, while toxic cause your character to take damage for a few seconds. Normally you cannot carry berries (they are automatically consumed once you gather them) - you can solve this problem by crafting a Pouch (a crafting recipe can be found in "Crafting and upgrading items").
  • Snack - various kinds of chocolate bars, which can be found inside of suitcases, in caves, or in the camps. After consuming, they regenerate your energy to the fullest, while satisfying a small amount of your hunger.
  • Soda - soda drinks, similar the previous type, can be found inside of suitcases, in caves and in the camps. After consuming, they restore your energy to full. Soda drinks can also be purchased for Cash in vending machines, in the final location, Laboratory.
  • Booze - alcohol, in contrary to all the other consumable items, servers the purpose of a crafting material, instead of a food source - upon consuming, it will reduce your energy, at the same time decreasing thirst by 50 points. It can be found in the same places as snacks and soda cans, as well as you can encounter them on the beach.
  • Meat - Rabbit, lizard, deer, crocodiles, turtles, boars i and fish meat can be collected by hunting those animals. Rabbits, deer, boars and lizards can be found in the forest. To catch a fish, you will have to equip yourself with a spear (it was previously described on where to find the spear) and "attack" the fish wit it, which will result in the animal being impaled on the stick. Afterwards you just need to collect it into inventory. All types of meats can be cooked on the fire, dried (with the Drying Rack) or added to a Stew.
  • Meds - they are certainly not a "normal" meal, but they are extremely useful to quickly regenerate half of health bar (for instance, in the cafe of a mutant attack). You can find them inside of suitcases and/or in a close vicinity to the crashed plane.
